Is this a good boat? Would it be enough power for 2 on the boat and 1 being towed between 120lbs-180lbs?

went over this forum 100times...about to begin my lemonscraft.
Although a tiller is legit, wouldnt it be better to get a jonny with steering wheel since theres more non tiller motors on craiglist? i dont need to worry about quick turn abouts. every decient tiller motor i find goes for 2500-3500... ex.
do i want a short or long shaft engine? what gives a bigger wake? easier to get up?
is a mod V hull any diffrent from a straight flat bottom performance wise? does mod V make better turns?
is a 4 stroke outboard slower then a 2stroke? do 2strokes last long?
what year are your johnnys?
what year are your tillers? would old school 1995 tillers still do the job?
why get a 16ft over a 14ft?
just wondering, my plans are to get a 16ft flat bottom with a newer 25hp 4stroke and weld my own tower.. im trying to spend less than 3500bucks.
will a 25hp tiller pick up someone who is 200lbs 6'0 with 2 people in the jonny?
what size motor do i need for a 16ft w/ 2 people in the boat..
pleaseee answer my questions to make me feel better Ha. im not tryin to finish it and have it not work... i live on a killer river, the water is already warm and its buttteerrr 5 days out of the week..need to get out asap and want the PERFECT lemonscraft...
please add any more information you can to help me out..
any forum or album with killer pics of lemonscraft please let me know..im trying to make this beotch serious and durabale! |

Just about anything will do. i was riding behind a 16 deep v job boat with a johnson 20 hp 2 stroke with 2 people in the boat. and it worked.
16 dont get pulled around by the rider as much. _________________ l_o/------------------------<l |

| alright so 16ft aluminum...and 25hp..will a 4stroke work just as good as a 2stroke? or do the 4stroke lag to much trying to pull up the rider? |

4 strokes sip gas through a coffee straw but they have like 1/3 of the power that a 2 stroke has. You'd need like a 60-70hp 4 stroke compared to a 25hp 2 stroke. _________________ My life's a constant work in progress and I wouldn't have it any other way! |

wrong.
the 4 stroke weighs more but a 25hp 4 stroke and a 25hp 2 stroke both put out 25hp around 5,000 RPM usually. _________________ HOTDOGS! |

do i want a short or long shaft engine? what gives a bigger wake? easier to get up?
The shaft length depends on the length of your transom and does not change the wake or make it easier/harder to get up. the cavitation plate on the motor needs to be even with or below the bottom of the boat for it to run right.
is a mod V hull any diffrent from a straight flat bottom performance wise? does mod V make better turns?
yes and yes
is a 4 stroke outboard slower then a 2stroke? do 2strokes last long?
no and 4strokes are more reliable but with proper care both will last a long time.
what year are your johnnys? 1973 Cajun Special i think
what year are your tillers? would old school 1995 tillers still do the job?
2005 Honda bf 40hp and yes if its in good running condition but most outboards don't put out full power after 10+ years of abuse.
why get a 16ft over a 14ft?
so you can fit more of your lady friends
just wondering, my plans are to get a 16ft flat bottom with a newer 25hp 4stroke and weld my own tower.. im trying to spend less than 3500bucks.
will a 25hp tiller pick up someone who is 200lbs 6'0 with 2 people in the jonny? it should depending on how well your motor is running and how heavy the boat is.
what size motor do i need for a 16ft w/ 2 people in the boat..
the more power the better, put a 150 on it so you can do some bare footing behind it. _________________ HOTDOGS! |

| woodstock13, boats arn't reliable, we just choose the cheapest option to ride simply because we can't afford a nice boat... |
