Originally I thought it would be retarded, but someone posted a video on here awhile back that changed my impression.

I just started Kiting this past November, it's a blast. I can't wait until I get a little better and put myself on to a skate to see how that goes.

I found a nice lagoon-type thing where the water stays flat even if the wind's kickin. Mother nature just has to cooperate and I have to get myself a kiteskate.

i was at Borders Bookstore last week and saw that cover and was blown away. Kiteboarding has 3 magazines! no wakeboarding magazines were at the store. and of course no wakeskating magazines

wakemitch, You gotta remember how HUGE kiteboarding is too. It's kind of ridiculous and I didn't realize until I started. Anyone from 11 or 12 years old all the way to mid-upper 60's kite. With that though comes a LOT of really lame people.

That's why I love wakeskating so much. It's such a better culture than kiting or even wakeboarding. Less room for toolbags.

Basically They're bigger with less rocker. Extra weight helps a bit too due to the wind.

Sorry to keep bumping this to the top, but this was kind of interesting/relevant....

Jason Stone (guy on the mag cover) just became the first ever sponsored kite wakeskater. He went wakeskate only about a year ago and now Cabrinha kites is going to expand their skate divison with him heading up design. Neat to see wakeskating's influence in another sport!

i honestly thought that was going to be lame, but that's unreal! just wait till we run out of oil and its the next sustainable alternative that allows us to continue to wakekate Smash

GnarShredd, that is sweet to know that we can influence other sports. I feel that we have influenced wakeboarding a lot more then we think.

cjbecker, I agree. Especially the winching movement and Shredtown and everything. There are more rails and the riding is more creative than ever now and I like to think it's in part to skaters.

I might have posted a vid on here a long time ago that fits the profile. I gave a Label a kite video with some sick skate sessions.

I have an old Wipika wakeskate from 02/03 maybe.

Kinda remember getting flamed to!

Check out some Lou Wainman and Maurice Abreu.... Been killin on the kiteskate (is that a word?) for years......

Check out Shannon Best and Best Kiteboarding in FL. A real OG!

I had seen it in this video for the first time.
