Well, in a few months once i turn 21 i plan on getting my CCW permit. I would love to hear what people on here use for their concealed carry or any information or experiences they might have to share. I will say, without any experience with the weapon, i absolutely love the look and feel of a walther ppk, although it might just be the due to the nostalgia of playing goldeneye as a kid.

a few things. never pull your gun unless you are prepared to pull the trigger. laws vary state to state so before you travel with it you have to find out who has reciprocity and abide by that state's laws. get to know your gun by reading the manual. keep it clean. shoot it and get used to it. i suggest a revolver. hydra shock or hollow point ammunition. and be safe. i don't care if the chamber is open and there are no bullets in the gun, don't point it at anyone ever unless you want to kill them.

I've been around enough guns to know that they're not toys you flash around to look cool. i was wondering more along the lines of what people preferred to carry and their preferred means of concealing.

PPK is a good choice. And I hear ya on the Golden eye, I used to kick ass.

I myself want a Taurus 1911. If shot my dad's a couple times and it is a beast.

I'm not of age to carry, but I'll end up getting my CCW when I turn 21.

I have a mossberg 500, Remington 870, and an old 1960's Ithaca break action 20g.

1911 seems like it would be a big gun to lug around, but damn they are fun to shoot.

I don't have a CCW, but I like to shoot paper targets. Got a Glock 22 (.40 cal) and a S&W 586 (.357 mag), along with some antique 9mm's. Both are really fun to shoot; prefer the .357 for home defense. I'd love to get a SIG Pro SP2009 (9mm) some day.

The luger is in pretty bad shape; the metal is pitted & rusty. I haven't even tried to take it apart. But the P-38 is mint; shoots smooth like it was new, even though the date on the barrel is 1944.

i prefer a little snub nose .38 on the ankle, or a 3.5" 1911. you can keep one in the chamber and if you really want you can have it cocked w/ safety on and to fire you still have to take safety off and depress the grip safety. kel-tec makes some itty bitty guns that are also good for carry.

Sec. 9.32. DEADLY FORCE IN DEFENSE OF PERSON. (a) A person is justified in using deadly force against another:

(1) if the actor [he] would be justified in using force against the other under Section 9.31; and

(2) [if a reasonable person in the actor's situation would not have retreated; and

[(3)] when and to the degree the actor [he] reasonably believes the deadly force is immediately necessary:

(A) to protect the actor [himself] against the other’s use or attempted use of unlawful deadly force; or

(B) to prevent the other’s imminent commission of aggravated kidnapping, murder, sexual assault, aggravated sexual assault, robbery, or aggravated robbery.

(b) The actor’s belief under Subsection (a)(2) that the deadly force was immediately necessary as described by that subdivision is presumed to be reasonable if the actor:

(1) knew or had reason to believe that the person against whom the deadly force was used:

(A) unlawfully and with force entered, or was attempting to enter unlawfully and with force, the actor’s occupied habitation, vehicle, or place of business or employment;

(B) unlawfully and with force removed, or was attempting to remove unlawfully and with force, the actor from the actor’s habitation, vehicle, or place of business or employment; or

(C) was committing or attempting to commit an offense described by Subsection (a)(2)(B);

(2) did not provoke the person against whom the force was used; and

(3) was not otherwise engaged in criminal activity, other than a Class C misdemeanor that is a violation of a law or ordinance regulating traffic at the time the force was used [requirement imposed by Subsection (a)(2) does not apply to an actor who uses force against a person who is at the time of the use of force committing an offense of unlawful entry in the habitation of the actor].

(c) A person who has a right to be present at the location where the deadly force is used, who has not provoked the person against whom the deadly force is used, and who is not engaged in criminal activity at the time the deadly force is used is not required to retreat before using deadly force as described by this section.

(d) For purposes of Subsection (a)(2), in determining whether an actor described by Subsection (c) reasonably believed that the use of deadly force was necessary, a finder of fact may not consider whether the actor failed to retreat.

A long time ago I had to make a choice between weed or guns. I still think I made the right decision.

I'm really excited. I might be pitching in half way for an AR15 from my uncle for my 18 bday. Plinking will be so much fun.

Didn't mention, but I also use some of my parents guns when plinking/shooting/hunting.

Remington .308
Remington 22LR
.357, not sure of maker or model.
