| i was reading nick's thread "i want to hear some opinions" and i read that most of yall said that you wished wakeskating didnt follow skateboarding that much and ive thought about that since i started wakeskating. like why do the boards HAVE to have skateboard grip, concave just like a skateboard, and skate shoes? i no yall are gonna think im crazy but id rather it be more like wakeboarding and see what kinda tricks u could pull of without bindings. what do you guys think? |

well guys are doing w2w 3's, backside spins, poking out grabs and hitting rails. only way to get more wakeboardy is to flip, but that's what wakeboards are for . _________________ "I said take me to the sea, cause that is where I want to be. I don't know what your argument is. People ride boards with foam tops. Some people ride flat decks with no concave. And some people ride wakeskates with bare feet.
Whatever way you look at it wakeskating IS skateboarding on water, at least the majority of us look at it that way. The last thing I want to see is a Whirlybird or a Pete Rose (whatever that is) on a wakeskate! _________________ ------------------------------------------------------

Well, you do the same tricks for one... I don't see how you could ever distance from skateboarding. Why don't you just strap in if its that big of a problem? Grip is there because people like the skateboard feel of it and they are accustomed to the feel. _________________ My life's a constant work in progress and I wouldn't have it any other way! |

i ride barefoot a lot. i don't see how it hurts so bad. I can do airs, 180's ollies, shuvs, and some others barefoot. I dont really do anything im not comfortable with but i do enjoy the feel of grip on the bottom of my feet. _________________ When it rains, it pours. |

the traction bit is about preference (and maybe a tad bit of bullying ) but the concave part makes the most sense because it comes down to board control. As for shoes...someone mentioned an old letter to the editor in a wake mag and some dude sliced his toes on a fin, not to mention that shoes are going to give your feet and ankles more support. Get asterisk--thomas will talk about people's response to shoes in the water and why it made sense from a performance stand point.
Finally, how you want to ride is more of a mind set, but I always liked thomas' ideology, which was trying figure out what was possible without bindings, instead of just re-learning what you knew on a wakeboard on a wakeskate. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

you cant change what wakeskating is. I like to think its a combination wakeboarding/skateboarding/and surfing _________________ ~ www.integrity-wake.com ~ www.iwinchglobal.com ~ |
