i was just watching the news this morning and they were discussing it, so i thought i'd say something. when i said "we" i was referring to the entire world. i am an atheist.

i didn't mean to start a religious battle. If there's going to be a pope, the head of catholic church, how about he be a good person rather than an anti-semetic promoter of child molestation and homosexual at that.

TWG, I didnt state my exact context. I meant Catholicism is a joke in regards to the christian religion. They dont follow the bible, they make up absurd rules and praise Mary nearly as much as Jesus Christ. Seems to be a lot of hate involved too, apparently some child molestation and antisemitism according to Mojo, but i dont follow any of that stuff at all.

To be honest i think as long as you are a good person, good things will come to you ect. I believe in Christianity as the bible teaches it but some of the stuff and teachers are just taken so far out of context and have been lost in translations 100's of years ago. Its like playing a giant game of telephone for 1000 years. Treat others with respect and kindness and you'll get it back, its worked for me so far. Karma i guess....

And he is just as ignorant and close-minded as the rest, when he should be setting an example for his "religion" and followers. I love the Family Guy episode where Stewie and Brian travel to a parallel universe where Christianity never existed. Sometimes I dream about that world...

and as a Catholic I do miss Pope John Paul II... I'm not like most Catholics though. I use practice religion mostly to keep me in line and focus more on prayer. I do believe in God, however I don't believe any one religion is the way to God. Buddhism, Islam, Christianity, Hinduism etc...nobody has the right to say one is right and one is wrong. They all are good but people warp religion (ex: Christian extremist killing an abortion doctor etc...)

Since I was raised in a Jewish household, its kinda weird to think that some of my friends and people I know(according to their religion) ill burn or whatever when Jesus returns or Im just goin to hell because I dont believe in that........gotta love it

IMO, if god created all of us in his image then he would not care if you accept a christian religion or otherwise. in the unlikely chance there is a heaven or hell i believe that it would depend on you as a person; not if you accept christ as your savior or however it goes. the biggest turn off to all religions to myself is the simple fact that praying is most often used for personal gain. whether it be to heal a sick friend or help someone get a job. and when god doesn't help out it was "his will" rather than him not listening. but it is what it is. we just need a pope with morals.
