Any specs on this thing?

Price? Speed? Pulling power? Lasting time of batteries?

416>It seems to operate with various batteries.
It seems to be calculating the promoted battery now.

Yuzu,
It is so crazy you posted this today, I have been talking with Shota about this and we had a long conversation about it today driving to the beach. I have told Shota to get in contact with you about some cool things.

Guys,
The word is these things are really great. Don't know the specs yet but hopefully we'll know soon.

add a solar charger like on some boat lifts for extra juice. or what about using the spool's energy to generate power like on some hybrid cars that use regenerative breaking.

yuzu, have you tried winching with this? I like the idea of a electrical winch, less noise, and more sustainable. However I don't know how practical it is, usually electrical devices don't have much torque and I noticed you don't have a TAV... ever though about getting one? IMO you might want to incorporate the batteries into the frame, it would just means another thing you don't have to carry.

price.dan, Your actually backwards on that... Electrical motors actually produce more torque and almost instant peak torque. The problem with the traditional motor one might use for something like this is then getting the rpm's out of it.

I know the first winch Kent built years ago was driven by an electric motor and it worked really well from my understanding... There was only one real problem... It ran on 220v LOL

The idea of an electric winch has been around since people first started talking winches, biggest problem was that nobody ever ran with the idea! It's awesome to see that someone has been working on it. I wanna know more info on this thing cause it looks pretty sweet!

The weight savings from having and electric motor combined with a really light weight frame would still be lighter with 3 12v batteries than your typical winch with a 9hp motor I think.

Who's the company thats making these? We definitely need some more information, preferably in English!

The only real problem I see is the rope flipping water everywhere and being by the water... As we all know electricity and water are not the best combination!

electric motors are great. max torque at any point in time. look at a tesla car.

No joke... If you poke around the site there's a video on there of them running the winch and people riding behind it. I can't find the link.

There's also a picture of the motor and it looks like some sort of a large brushless motor. Pretty awesome!

Just start clicking the links on the site!
