|
|
Hi!
After reading tons of topics on many forums I've decided to build with my friend our own winch. Our priority was power ( I weigh more than 100KG), simplicity and weight - we want it to be massive and stable
We chose a 13 HP engine (honga 390 replica) and an oilbath clutch.
At the moment we've assembled the clutch, almost finished the frame - we're still waiting for some parts -bearings etc. to build the gearing and the spool.
Here are some pics:
The engine:
Assemblying the cluth:
Our workshop (it was -5 C degrees, fizzle cold :/)
The material:
Our tools:
Some cutting:
Some welding:
Frame nearly finished:
I know the size can be worring but we have a suitable car for carrying it :
In like 3 Days We should finish the spool and start screwing it all together, March 13 is the test day |

That is a beast of a frame. Better put some wheels on it. Good luck! It's fun/frustrating when you start testing and dialing in the speed/power.
This reminds me of a joke...
How many Polish people does it take to build a winch?... |

of coure the frame will have some wheels.. meanwhile we found out that the winch is just one part of the fun : we also need some boards to ride on. So we decided to make same wakeskates
W started by making the jig:
(lumber, plywood, glue, screws etc. for two jig's about 35 $)
How many Polish people does it take to build some wakeskates?? :
+ couple of beers
do you have these in US or Canada?? (7% alc )
+ a jar of pickled cucumbers and 3 sausages
+ a cd player and some punk rock records:
"mmmmm., smells delicious.."
preparing the jig for glueing the boards:
these will be "penis-shaped" boards:
Heating the epoxy...
And 3 layers of 3mm plywood glued together on the jig...
More pics soon!! |

| Cool, the 13 hp must be quite powerful. I've seen winches with a lot less power. What was the total cost to build it? |
