I am planning a winch build and I was wondering will a 14tooth Centrifugal Clutch work with a 11hp engine as far as a good gear ratio later on when I build a spool? What size spool and sprocket will I need to use?

i think it'll be a pretty jerky start! the TAV2 gives you nice smooth starts which is why everyone uses it. the centrifugal clutch just kicks on at 2500 rpm (or whatever its set to) and just yanks. or at least thats my two cents... _________________
the centrifugal clutch is only temporary until they make TAV2 for 11hp engines. What size sprocket would I use with the spool since I have a 14 tooth up front?
they make a comet 40 series for bigger engines i had one on my 13 harbor freight that is the clutch you will need. the only thing with the 40 series it does not bolt on the side of the engine like the 30 series you need to make a jackshaft which is more of a pain in the ass the line the engine jackshaft and spool up square. i would try the clutch and see how that goes the bad thing is u might burn the clutch up quickly make sure its a heavy duty clutch.
