Hey guys I have never wakeskated or wakeboarded before. I am planning on being pulled behind a jet ski this summer. I'm about 6 ft 170lbs. I don't want to get a board that is pretty much strictly beginner and you cant do much as you get more advanced. I want to get a board that is beginner friendly and you can get somewhat advanced on as I progress. My price range is probably up to 200$. I was looking at a Byerly 2008 Legacy or a few different Gator Boards. Any more suggestions or should I dump the boards I'm looking at. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. |

If your willing to spend a little more than 200 check out Oak Wakeskates. They make a great wood concave board, super solid. also check out NEW wakeskates good boards for a good price.. they make a solid wood concave that is good for any level or riding that will pretty much be under 200$$. and the only way you can really find a board you like is to go out and try as many as possible. Its hard to have someone tell you want to pick because boards are really personal preference. I have heard from a few people though that you either love the legacy or hate it. me personally i dont like it, but again thats MY personal opinion. So if you have the opportunity i would try to ride as many boards as you can so you can get an idea for what you might like. hope that helped a little bit |

if you are just starting out, any board is gonna work for you. after you learn the basics and try out a few different boards then you will learn what aspects of the board you like and dislike.
if you are looking to choose between a gator and a byerly then i would suggest the gator because the byerly has some deep channels that might make thing a little harder, but like i previously stated no matter which one you start out with you will adjust to it and progress on it. _________________ HOTDOGS! |

The biggest thing in wakeskating, is just to wakeskate and have fun. The wakeskate really does not matter, you can ride anything have have fun and progress. _________________ l_o/------------------------<l |

grab yourself a solid wood concave deck and go shred.
oak, woodworks, goodwood, new, remote, satelyte.
Check out the classifieds section on here too. theres been some sweet deals lately on some boards worth alot more than what theyre goin for. _________________ When it rains, it pours. |

the Obscura concaves are also in your price range, because they're priced right at 200.00. you can learn more about the board here by looking for the flim with danny hampson: http://www.liquidforcefilms.com/ _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |
