18 foot aluminum boat. If you threw a tower on this do you think it'd skate well? _________________ "Whenever you find a man who says he does not believe in a real right and wrong, you will find this same man contradicting that a moment later."-CS Lewis |

Ahhh yeah! A pylon would fit right into it!
So this boat seems alright to skate behind? It's got a 90 HP engine.
I'm new to the whole 'lemonscraft' type of thing so i don't know whether a boat like this would work good. _________________ "Whenever you find a man who says he does not believe in a real right and wrong, you will find this same man contradicting that a moment later."-CS Lewis |

that will definitely work but if it was me, i'd try to find something more flat bottom..
see if you can test out the wake before you purchase. _________________ When it rains, it pours. |

It seems like the flatter bottom boats would make the wake almost non-existent. I hear people screamin about the flat bottom ones, but it seems like there'd be no wake at all with them.
Are these guys putting ballast in these types of boats to get a wake? _________________ "Whenever you find a man who says he does not believe in a real right and wrong, you will find this same man contradicting that a moment later."-CS Lewis |

i would stick with that setup, bass boats like that are some of the funnest boats to ride behind imo. they usually have a big in/out wake and a fun little reentry. _________________ HOTDOGS! |

i got an 16 foot bass fishin boat. they make pylons that screw right into where the back seat goes but I have heard they can rip the top deck off so I havnt got one. Like they said above, very fun for i/o and re-entrys. I just use a bridal around the outboard right now and it works fine but the line is pretty low.
Gettin a custom tower this summer which im pretty stoked about. I only have a 75 but it can pull people outa the water over 200 pounds no prob.

^fastgreens was tellin me about how he beefed-up his for a taller pylon, you might hit him up for the details.
I was worried that a 90 wouldn't pull up a 200 pounder with a couple of people in the boat, but everyone says that it will. The one i'm interested in has a modified v-hull, so i'm not sure what type of wake it'll throw. I'd like to have something that could give me a decent w2w.......i guess i'm gonna test drive it and see what it's like. _________________ "Whenever you find a man who says he does not believe in a real right and wrong, you will find this same man contradicting that a moment later."-CS Lewis |

I have a mod-v as well. the only problem about w2w is that the wake is still fairly small. you really gotta pop the f outa it. and you will def need to get a tower or pole becasue when u cut out as far as u can the line will drag in the water a little bit.
I weight 195 and have had 3 of my friends on the boat while i ride all of which weighed over 175. It takes a minute to get used to but once your used to it you will pop right up and thats only with a 75 |

dude fiberglass bass boats are honestly the funnest boats i've ever ridden behind. my buddy had an 18 foot nitro that he used to fish with all the time and we rode behind that a few times. biggest i/o wake ever. _________________ i am the bear jew |
