UGH! I can't even believe cassette would use marketing techniques to promote a new item. I mean, ollies are played...oh wait, they're actually a staple for many wakeskating tricks out there (and as someone else said, they feel good too). And seriously, remember when they came out with that 4-trac thing? They actually used a picture of thomas nosesliding in an ad to demonstrate its capabilites. BOGUS!!! MALARKY!! HIJINKS!!! At least they aren't on here trying to push that board in everyone's face.

And seriously, cassette taking an ollie shot (or whoever took that pic) is like hyperlite using the "parks butter" pic or chad blunting a rail on that roam. Why have the board do something normal when there are "abnormal" capabilities (which sounds weird, but why do something standard if there is something special about the board). You'll find pics like that in any industry to promote an item (another that comes to mind is the forum street dweller).

Fantastico, another conversation on legitimacy of tricks, yeah that photo is real, I was there. Wait, or was I? Do I need to let rukus inform you guys if I was or wasn't? Because apparently wakeskating.com users idolize rukus and integrity. (no offense rukus or integ.). But it seems some of you guys hate on people for no reason, seriously, why do you guys ride? It is not about hating, it is about fun, the soul, or even the essence of the sport. You guys say ollieing is played out, look at the cover of skate board mag this month, nice big floaty ollie, or is it photoshopped? are you serious. I seen hunters 3 shov in tampa, it was nice, and big, and it stoked all of us that were there, and it was good to see a bunch of different riders stoked on a product and riding together having fun. Did anyone happen to mention the board to board challenge that day, you ride a bi-lev, then ride what you ride usually, after that, ask how everyone felt about their boards.

alright, I'm back. I just saw on wakeworld that the ollie pic was posted by a shop worker from bliss, so I don't even know why cassette was accused of wacky marketing with that shot. It was taken at a demo, so there's no magic, trickery, or bull honkey involved.

And this is a serious question (no sarcasm present): do you think there will be difference in wedge size and subsequent ollie height when a wedge is created behind a pwc, as opposed to a full-fledged wake boat? I'm pretty sure I've seen russian's pics because he posted a few last year (which was cool). But what makes reed's shot so impressive is the fact that it's behind a pwc. I wouldn't care who it was, that's freaking cool.

This topic is so typical of how things have been going lately. It seriously reminds me of the presidential election, which is really sad for our sport.

Bottom line, that pic is just crazy nuts! The trick, the height, the quality, the moment, the color, the facial expressions...

I don't understand how anyone that loves to wakeskate can not just sit back and admire it.

If anyone knows who took that pic, please let me know. Thanks.

well put dave...well put. Very Happy

This is the guy that posted the pic on wakeworld.com: bliss_sports@yahoo.com

Oh yeah, I wanted to add (or correct myself) that russian's wakeskate experimentation may have been over a year ago...my memory sucks.

for real im totaly down with wat dave said. for real from when i first saw this pic even if i wasnt there, i would have belived it. think back to snap, aron reed pulled a 360 ollie in the flats over a barrel. thats huge, obviously the guy has skills, why would he or let someone market a fake picture?????

I was under the assumption that it was out of a Cassette ad... And even if it was, I don't think it's really a sin to show what is possible with the board, even if you can do it with another board. It's just a little more clever than your average ad. When I was younger it always pissed me off when I was looking at a skateboarding mag and would see a trucks ad with a dude doing a boardslide.

I propose we start a love club and oppose the forces of hatred before we have to call the Ghostbusters.

cuogh cough, uh oh uh yeah what ever Dave Barousse, and rukusrider103, said....

you guys kill me everyone on here said something and then said the totall opposite after ryan voiced his opinion........ that pic is tight, thats all it is just 1 picture of 1 wakeskater who happens to be really good. u will not be able to ollie that high. let me remind everyone that the bi-level is still just a wake skate, not a magic carpet that is going to turn you into aaron reed. i promise that everything he can land on a 4 track he can land on the bi sexual i meen bi-level

PIRATE,
I beg to differ. In my original post I stated that the image is "insane" and in my second post I said it is "crazy nuts." That is the same opinion in both.

And what do you mean the Bi-level isn't a magic carpet? So you are saying that if I buy one, I won't be as good as Reed?

I think the issue here is that some of us really enjoy the picture, for what it's worth, and others are trying to argue that a bi-level deck is not required to ollie that high. It is really just a bunch of confusion and pointless bickering.

I still think that is one of the coolest wakeskating images I have ever seen. (again, same opinion)
