So i've got 2 boats i'm interested in...
1) 2001 Sea Ray 210 BR, 5.0 L, 240 HP, in board/out board, 215 hours, no tower, no trailer, very clean.
2) 2000 Moomba Mobius V, 5.7 L, 310 HP, V-drive, 310 hours, tower, trailer, very clean.
On one hand the Sea Ray will save gas, and has prolly not been rode hard as it was just a run-about. But it has no tower, no trailer, and isn't set-up interior wise to be very 'wakeride' freindly.
The Moomba however is obviously set-up for riding wakes. It has a tower and trailer, but will require more gas and has prolly been rode harder cause wakeriders owned it.
After i do the math regarding the trailers, and adding a tower, they both cost about the same. So which would yall choose? I'm almost to the point of flippin a coin! _________________ "Whenever you find a man who says he does not believe in a real right and wrong, you will find this same man contradicting that a moment later."-CS Lewis |

Thnx for the responses, i'm kinda leaning towards the moomba too, maybe someone can convince me otherwise. _________________ "Whenever you find a man who says he does not believe in a real right and wrong, you will find this same man contradicting that a moment later."-CS Lewis |

If you're really into w2w then +1 for the Moomba, but that also comes with extremely unnecessary amounts of gas. If you'd like to avoid that and get the best buy for a lot less money then..

you could even take the extra money you were gonna spend on the Moomba/Sea ray and pimp that beach out. _________________ When it rains, it pours. |

Moomba...I had an 01 Mobius LS & it had a good wake for wakeboarding, wakeskating & wakesurfing. _________________ Vive La Jeffe! - JLA is snowboarding!

| Moomba. I owned a '03 Gravity Games LSV and it was a great boat. Resale is going to strongly favor the Moomba too. Also, it'll pop the rider out of the water quicker and the bow of the boat doesn't come up like an I/0 does, which is safer for everyone. My boat had a trim plate on it, which was very nice for shaping the wake too. |

The Mobius V throws a nice wake and you can surf behind it.....I have never ridden behind the sea ray you are looking at so I have no idea what the wake is like, but you certainly can not surf behind an i/o. _________________ Bindings? We don't need no freaking bindings.... |

Now i'm trippin on a sea doo. I don't know shizzle about PWC's, but just saw a 2008 sea doo 150 speedster with 215 HP and a wake tower. It's pretty small on the inside, but has 0 hours and is brand new.
I just don't know what kinda wake that thing would produce. I'm 6'2'' and 200 lbs, so i'm also wondering if the drag from me behind it would jerk it around and make it difficult to stay on track.
It's a sweet little ride though, and has a warranty and would be easier to transport and clean/maintain.
I sure do like being able to get some decent pop from edging into a wake from the flats though....and i don't know if this speedster thing would make a steep enough wake for that. _________________ "Whenever you find a man who says he does not believe in a real right and wrong, you will find this same man contradicting that a moment later."-CS Lewis |

I love the shizzle out of my Speedster. It has a very meaty I/O and will still allow some decent wake to wake. It is nice on gas too (but i have the 155) but way more than enough power to get begineers out of the water. I will try and find some pics of the wake for ya. _________________ http://trihawk.fotki.com

Wow. I'd love to see some wake pics.
So the whole edging back in from the flats doesn't control the boats tracking? I keep thinking that my old lady wouldn't be able to steer the boat very well when i'm out there leaning hard on the line. I'm also curious as to how line tension effects the RPM's. On my old-ass sea ray right now it's a mutha trying to keep the speed right when someones riding. How do these speedsters handle that?
And thanks for responding dude, i appreciate it! _________________ "Whenever you find a man who says he does not believe in a real right and wrong, you will find this same man contradicting that a moment later."-CS Lewis |

I'd pick a v-drive over any other boat any day of the week. Ive had boats all my life, other then the gas $, v-drives are the best watersport boats period. plus they are a million times safer then I/O's. Yes there are cheaper boats, that use less fuel, but they are nowhere near as comfortable.
If it's strictly for riding then a pwc may be a better option. But most people don't buy boats just for riding. half the fun is hanging out on the water with good tunes good friends and maybe some drinks |
