Yes, I've searched through the old threads but found nothing to help me.
Anyways, I've recently got back into bmx, mostly dirt trails, but I'm on my 7-8 yr old Redline RL 540. Things a beast but it's easily outdated and small for me.
Anyone care to recommend a setup for me? I'll be doing dirt trails mostly with street use as well. I'm about 6 foot 2ish and 170ish lbs. I feel comfortable on a 24in cruiser but Im not sure how practical it would be for street use and what not. I've also been out of the scene for WAY to long to know jack shizzle about companies now a days and what to look for.
Also I'm trying to keep it under $400ish if possible.
Any help guys? and let me know if you need more info.. _________________ Scuba Steve's Wakeskate Film Libray |

Any cons to using a cruiser for the street besides the obvious of it being little longer? And I keep seeing dirt specific or street specific bikes, anyone got a good all around they can recommend? _________________ Scuba Steve's Wakeskate Film Libray |

Steven M, first off. PM Ryan Lemons(soy) He Knowns more about bikes than most people on this site will ever know about. HE IS GOOD. Check out his bmx vids.
Second. Look at some "Felt" bikes. they may or may not still be around. they should still be, but they may not(economy shizz). It is a solid frame. At most you will have to replace the pedals(depending on the complete you buy, the most you'll have to repplace is the sporkect depending on what you want). But "Felt" is a solid choice.
But seriously, "Felt" is/ was a legit company. Just talk to Ryan Lemons.... _________________ 10101 |

If i were you i would get a Kona Shred... Yes its a MTN bike, but its a hard tail so you can dirt jump the shizzle out of it. Plus your getting older.... ITs time to put child'ish things aside..... Your not a fiznackling Dinosaur.

click on the Shred to the side....
Watch the vid on this page also. _________________

PIRATE as tempting as those things look I'd still like to be able to hit up the street and some ramps/parks.... but I do need to invest in a mtn bike later this year since the family I moved in goes up to the hills every now and then.
But I need to finish paying for EMT school before I invest in a mtn bike sooooo I need to keep my eye on a bmx bike for now. Thanks for the link though cause I'll be keeping those in mind when I start looking for a mtn bike for sure. _________________ Scuba Steve's Wakeskate Film Libray |

For the most part I'm looking to upgrade to something newer than my old RL 540, doesn't have to be brand spanking new never owned or ridden. And yea, after doing more lurkin on the 'ol E-net I've opted out of the cruiser since I want to hit up the street as well and it would be weird on a cruiser.
I guess I'm looking for a good all around bike that I can take to the trails, hit up some street spots and then use for some light ramp/park fun. _________________ Scuba Steve's Wakeskate Film Libray |
