Winch engine ??

Does anyone know how powerfull is the engine used in winches? I can see from the photos that it's a Briggs&Stratton engine. But I can't see how much horsepowers it has..

all i know is that they said it was a go kart engine srry if that didnt help.

I'm building a winch and I got a used 8.5 horse engine. Make sure the engine you get is horizontal

I live in Holland and wanna build my own which, how many hp do i need for a strong one. I'm thinking about 18 or 20hp.

martijn, truthfully thats actually about what you need even 10 hp is a little inadequate, 15 hp and up the more the better
