winch4fun, well your first problem is comparing a 600 to a 1000

the rest is mostly opinion from my end, but from the 3 crotch rockets i've ridden, I ranked the GSXr at the lowest. (with the CBR600rr at the top, and the R6 following) The GSXr just feels too big, and a tad clunky around the corners.

They may be popular, but they aren't all that great.

i wasnt starting an argument, it was just my 2 cents. i too started out on a cbr, but it was a 954. i now ride a 09 gsxr 1000. reason why i specified a 2009 is because it is the closest thing to a track bike thats available to public off the show room floor. the 2009 gsxr1000 has been totally redone from the 2008 version. you can tune in your own dampining specifications the way you like and the way you want now, along with other options for that true track bike feel. i agree that they are popular...but there is a reason why they are popular. all three are great bikes but again the suzuki has come the closest to track bike out the door than anyone else.

next step...get off a 600 and feel the powerband of cbr1000rr, gsxr1000, or r1

winch4fun, I will regret it. I don't have the self control needed for a bike. The last time I rode one was the r6 and I almost killed myself passing a car. The bikes were like ~'06 or '07, and the CBR may have been an '05
