Which board is better ?
Are those good board for winching
We actually use a winch at our sea spot,
and often water is very chopped,
any suggestion if in this case
a single deck (Oak) is better than a Bi level.
Normally we ride with a Cassette Bi-level 42
Thanks |

one board is not necessarily better than the other, its all personal preference. If you say you ride a heavy chop, i would go for the zarial just because it is heavier. _________________

PoopSkater, can you elaborate? I have looked at the Zariel and was thinking of buying one to try out but I have heard mixed opinions on it.
Sorry for the thread hijak but EL MASSE might be interested too.
I have been riding an Onset since Feb and it has held up well for a wood deck but I wont get another one. I don't really like the shape of the concave and after alot of rails and winching it is definately almost stuffed. |

Why is the zariel so bad.
I thought it was a stable and responsive board, a bit heavy but surely
good for intermediate-advanced riders. I'm wrong? |

idk some people like it
but i think it just sucks
its very hard to do 3shuvs and stuff on and the pop feels weird
and who paints a board all black thats so stupid
when i rode it i couldnt tell what was the top and bottom so i couldn't kickflip it or anything
at least the new ones are red on the bottom
and i think it even sucks on the trampoline
it hits me in the shins and crap _________________ vesselwake.com |

No offense to you but you look young in your picture there and its not hard to 3 shuv that board at all. It is a little heavy and takes a little more work from the rider. its not a bad board but it is heavy. |

Between the onset and the zariel, i liked the zariel much better.
The onset wasnt for me at all. I dont like the huge kicktail which no one seems to use and the concave is pushed out so far it didnt help much. I thought it popped awkward and i couldnt get used to shuvs on the board because of the stance i had to use on the board. also the tail cracked on the top deck at the corner after a few short sets and the side concave was chipping off.
The zariel has a super snappy ollie. It has a concave that comes further towards the middle and a long gradual kicktail. i felt the tail was a bit too long but i guess you could get used to it. The deck rides really high on the water because of the rail shape and its pretty fast for a bilevel. I heard you can change tune the edge shape and if you can that i would definitely round the edges.
I personally wouldnt pick either of the boards, but if I had to it would be the 40" Zariel |
