McLOVIN, especially a person like you that has been on the site awhile I could see people being more open to sharing spots and wanting to shred them with you.
that is why I think PM is the way to go about it on this site. then the person can use their discretion on who the gap should be shared with. and if you are coming to town would be open to go shred them with you. |

daniel, yeah bro thats a great idea,
i was wanting to take a winching road trip soon because GA has zero spots. it would suck if an "outsider" like me couldn't get on any spots... |

| McLOVIN, I agree, but I don't see you as an outsider, don't even know your name but you are McLOVIN and would love to show you the few gaps I know. bte I have heard GA is the best place for gaps. |

how many people on the public forum have asked for directions??? ( how many were about spots in fla, as well) someone please do the research, wish i had the time
pretty much seems like a big deal about nothing
but if your gonna poll for a question, and be serious about it, make sure the choices don't lead people to a certain answer
good discussion topic though |

finding a winch spot takes time, research, and most of the time a marter to check out the startup, landing, and/or overall sketchyness
Therefore keep those coordinates to yourself and your crew. There a ton of spots from texas in funboots, first breath that we have shared and those we shared them with also respect that unwritten philosophy...and all is good _________________ Part of the Lifestyle

here is a story: One day I was driving down 95 and saw a sick looking gap so I stoped my truck on the side of the highway backed up and took a picture of said gap, came on here posted the picture and its location ( I dont own a winch but I did this in the hopes that other wakeskaters could enjoy this spot. ) So a year or so passes and I got my copy of Funboots and low and behold there is the gap getting shreded by all the "top pros dood" lol...Now I know that someone may have known about the gap before my picture, but I would like to think to myself that maybe I helped find an epic spot for all wakeskaters to shred... not just a few in my little crew. I guess Im just getting old! I love you all! no homo |

I'm sure I've asked for directions once or twice on here, usually just out of curiosity, but quickly learned that sending and discreet PM to the OP was the way to go. I generally will do the same if someone sends me a PM asking for directions. I might leave out a few details here or there and make them work for it though haha. Nothing wrong with spreading knowledge of riding spots IMO. You just need to learn discretion and keep a level head when hitting the spot.
NickThat is one glorious looking gap from the air |

Wakeskating is not even a blip on the radar. Surfing and Skating are way different...... But i am talking to kids from florida, who think wakeskating is bigger then it really is. I hope all of the spots in FLA do get blown out, then maybe people will explore the rest of the U.S. There are soooo many winch spots out there, and wakeskating is SOOOO small. If were doing it right, sharing the love, the amount of spots compared to the number of peope willing to shred said spots is unreal........ You've been surfing swami's to much bud. CA Coastal localism got to your brain ?
Point: Millions of winch spots, very few "winchers". There should be no crowds if were truly "exploring" whats possible with a winch. _________________
