I can't help you with the partition issue, but you might wanna consider a larger partition for Windows. I have Win 7 installed on my MBP using VMware and it's 11gb in size and I don't even have a whole lot installed on it.

dont partition your hard drive using bootcamp or whatever... i tried it and had the same problem

go out and buy fusion ( http://www.vmware.com/products/fusion/ )

i bought it for 40 bucks at my college bookstore and had a leftover windows xp from when i was a pc lol... works great.... i only use it for engineering programs that dont run on mac os... i dont even get online while running xp cause im afraid of viruses lol...

the thing i love about it the most is i can run both windows and leopard at the same time with the mac "spaces" function... open windows on one space and then i have three others for leopard ... so i can get files from my mac and easily bring them back and forth to windows by just clicking control right...

scott a, I plan on a larger partition I just used that for the screenshot

JeffKnox, I'm not really wanting to spend any money considering I have everything I need already but I may pirate some other software

I'm also wondering how I could dual boot with windows 7 without having to burn a dvd of the operating system. Can I move 7 to my external and download it from there?

You can make a bootable usb thumbdrive. It's not anything too crazy from what I've heard. Here's a link that might help... http://www.crunchgear.com/2009/01/21/seven-steps-to-a-bootable-windows-7-thumb-drive/
