I remember what a huge deal it was when the first backside flip was landed, and when the 3flip went down, when GVW stuck an impossible (or debated impossible, in any case, it was cool), and the first W2W kickflip.
This thread is in honor of all of the firsts. Post links, videos, memories, etc. of either the first time a trick was stuck (or at least documented) by someone else or your own personal victories over a trick that was on your mind. Get stoked to ride this weekend.
This stuck out in my mind for some reason (plus it was easy to find ) when I was writing this post, so I'll start it off with the impossible post:

This is the first kickflip ever landed in competition, the first stop from the first year wakeskating became part of the pro wakeboard tour.

This one is a bit different, but here's an old messer clip from the fresh water promo: http://www.wakeskating.com/media/showphoto.php/photo/2159/cat/500/ppuser/2
I chose this section of that promo vid becuase he was gapping his shuvs and had some crazier wake to wake shuv attempts (from 1996). He eventually landed one, but it was never documented and thus, never claimed. Still, I think it's all pretty bad ass...I think he's got some stylish board control, seeing as how he's riding like a 137 cm wakeboard with his traction pads on it. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |
