the carson isn't a wakeskate shoe, but it looked like it would be sick (and I liked the colors, too). wakemitch, what didn't you like about them? _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

this is probably a stupid question, but are the dvs/cassette shoes that came out this year specifically made for wakeskating? or are they made only to look cool? _________________ http://www.stickandflick.com

Gnarly Dancer 42, they are different from the skate shoes. One thing is the cork insole, which doesn't take on any water, and the inside area by the heel is some other material (I can't remember the name, but it's common...it's like what track pants are made of) that's really breathable and dries fast. There are also two metal eyelets on the inside area near the arch. I can't remember of those are on the original dayton or not, but they work well for water drainage. The perforated panels are on the regular daytons, but they work pretty well also. Water will only drain out from the panels if you put pressure on them (like sliding your foot into the shoe), so that's why I think the eyelets are good also.
All in all, it's fashion and function, which is what dvs has always been about. I love the shoes because even though I have a bunch of pairs, I'm trying to keep them fresh. So I'm wearing my wakekate shoes all around town and I'm not getting dirty looks for having smelly shoes. But I also dry my shoes in front of a fan.
wakemitch, thanks for the insight. I've stubbed my toes with my daytons, but that's becuase they're a bit too big. But the cork insole is grippy and I like that. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

the black nubuck ones with white stiching are the tits..<3 |
Thirded. I won a pair from DVS and after they did work as my regular shoes they became my wake shoes and I fell in love. Nice and light, dried in no time, the inner lining was secks.
Alas, then the 7ft cat fish that roam the waters of my lake took one from me and I offered the other for good terms. Now I'm rocking the Regency and they feel great too. _________________ Scuba Steve's Wakeskate Film Libray |
