I'm looking for a engine and found one for $100 on ebay can anyone tell me if this is a good buy for a winch?

you might be better off spending an extra $50 and buying one new from harbor freight - or even northern tool for that matter:

it doesn't look like the motor has a gas tank, which probably costs 30 or 40 bucks. so may as well get a new one...
