Why is it that people can spam the forum with 15 different threads about integrity and integrity related stuff but, when a respected member of our forum spends a couple years of his life to give our small community something to enjoy like a video(we need all we can get), it is made more difficult for him by the mods of this forum. I'm not sure if it's a personal grudge or what, but I do know its not helping wakeskating in any way. Thoughts, comments?

by the way if you want to see a great video, get your hands on a copy of We're Just Skiing to go right along side your copy of Funboots!

i do agree about the integrity stuff though........ integrity is sweet in all, but we should be hearing more stuff about other companies too like oak.....and NEW. just as good if not better

i find it weird how nearly everyone on here loves integrity, yet integritys ride so much different than any other wakeskate out there

Gnarly Dancer 42, Yup, i used to suggest NEW's to new riders in threads when they posted, but it got old hearing from other members "all you ever do is try to shuv new down peoples throats" blah blah.... so i simply PM them now with a nice friendly welcoming message suggesting NEW and other board types depending on what they like and what not. Its sad not hearing about the smaller companies, like what is Devotid up to know?! have not heard a single thing about them in a year now.... ??? W/e.... thats how this forum will always be.

Listen, I don't know who moved the thread and it's not the first thing I would have done, but I can understand their decision because that thread is a straight up sales plug/spam (in an accurate sense), and it does make sense that a sales thread was moved to the classified section. I will admit that as a whole, I think we're pretty inconsistent with this because sometimes the threads will slide and sometimes they will go to the classifieds or they will get deleted. I don't know if there was any grudge or not because there was some discussion that said poster was spamming some other thread with plugs to buy the video? I know that disappointed a few people.

But let's get real: did one of the mods absolutely kill the video sales by moving that sale thread to the classifieds section?

Yes, there are a lot of integrity threads, but is erich starting every single one of those threads with the specific intention of selling product? Sure, he does start some threads to let people know what's going on with new product, developments with the team or what have you, etc. That isn't anything new; thomas horrell used to do that with cassette, be it 4-trac discussions or introducing the 05 line or new website developments. It's also interactive with Erich because he's asking people what they want to see from integrity/mutiny. He's always done that, right down to asking people what kind of weight they were looking for in a wakeskate. And there's no doubt that he's gotten sales off of that, and I know he knows that, but a lot of people have benefitted from threads in the forum. On the flip side, it seems like people really value any interaction they have with schmaltz and integrity...they have some sort of say in what's going on, and they also have a connection to it. I think it's cool that he or christian from arson like to post what's going on with their board designs.

As far as any other integrity thread goes, it's simply what people want to talk about. And those threads aren't spam, or at least the great majority of them aren't because they're started by fans who either have questions or want to talk about how stoked they are on their new board. It's the same way with how people talk about fun boots! You're all free to start any thread about oak, new, devotid, sattelyte, etc, etc etc.

Another point is it's not like the thread that was moved was the very first thread on this site about "we're just skiing." I think everyone on here has seen threads about that film for at least a year. And it's not like anyone on here is trying to black ball the film or the people behind it. If we were, we'd delete everything, straight up. Furthermore, I'd be more than willing to put up any press release they'd put together regarding the video. I'd offer to write something but at this point I suck at getting those things done, so I don't want to commit to something that I can't promise will be done in a timely fashion.

FINALLY...

As it goes, TECHNICALLY, companies are not supposed to sell anything on the forums. If you want a hard core example, visit wakeworld (and I'm not knocking david for that). A couple of years ago I was pretty uptight about that because I felt disappointed that companies would support other media outlets through ads and what not, but when it came to the site it was more about using the forums for their own gain and not really giving anything back. At this point, it is what it is. Wakeskating is really small, and there's not much money to be had for any wakeskate specific entrepreneuer or business. Today there are hardly any ads from the small wakeskate companies in any magazine. The site is a great way for the word to be spread, and you can see that a few companies do choose to take advantage of the site by communicating directly with interested parties/their loyal fan base, or whatever you want to call it. But those companies also have to have a thick skin because if one thing goes wrong with their product, you will hear about it on this forum. I think that's the aspect that keeps a lot of other company people off of the site. I know that if someone has an issue, they'd prefer that the customer contact them first, as opposed to airing any greviances on a message board...

canalskater, are you trying to make a point by turning your own thread into "spam"?

I just want to end this by saying that whatever I said about erich and integrity in this thread is simply what I believe and how I see it, and I'm not trying to make excuses for anybody. I ride shiznackle wood wakeskates because I want to, and I have nothing to gain by being fake and saying what I think erich or anyone else would want to hear. Take it for what it's worth.

While I still don't necessarily disagree with the moving of that thread, out of fairness to every other video guy who's announced a video on here (and I guess to erich, since we let him sell so many boards on here--*read with heavy sarcasm) I moved that thread back to the general wake forum.

electricsnow, Sorry if I got a little to stoked on the video, I've spent two years dedicating my life to make this movie. I just want to make sure people know that it's out there and that they can now order it. Just for your information esno, last night the thread was deleted not moved, I checked all the sub forums even classified and non wakeskating.

P.S. I only made one post outside of the thread regarding the purchase of we're just skiing and that was in relation to somebody asking if a trick has been done a certain way and I told him yes pre order were just skiing to check it out.

and I also sent you a pm about writing up the review/interview for we're just skiing but have yet to get a response, like you said , I know youve been busy

funboots! got posted in general wake all the time too

im glad it was posted there because i dont really pay attention to the classifieds section, classifieds seems more to me like somewhere one person is just trying to sell like a wakeskate, or a rope, or a fridge, etc. that is different than a video being available for pre order.

funboots!, integrity, devotid, arson, and more have all announced their pre orders in general wake, i believe we're just skiing should be there too, it gets more attention

Composite boards, solid wood boards, concave, continuous rocker, 3 stage rocker, flat decks, bamboo core, birch core, bi-levels, and tri-levels all ride differently? I could say my board rides so much differently than any other wakeskate out there... cuz it does.........
