These suckers look mean as hell.
I watched an episode of River Monsters about them on Discovery, and some dude caught one 6'8". and the host of the show caught one 3 feet long in the tennessee river, where i do the majority of my waterdancing. Shocked

Yep.
In the Mississippi river they chill at the surface of the water and wait for prey just like an alligator... except they aren't as afraid of humans. Twisted Evil

T-Hawk, they just eat fish. a lot of folks hunt them with a spool-type bow and arrow. i caught a three footer in cedar bayou when i was in high school.

-=AlexXx=-, a 10+ foot alligator is fvcking scary as hell. we got one of those in cedar bayou too. when we see him... we get a couple miles away.

Well even if they do eat fish, it doesn't sound like they take too kindly to humans, so i'd get a couple miles away too. haha

I don't think they necessarily go out of there way to attack humans or anything. They just aren't as intimidated by people as gators are..

Yeah, true. When they come up to get air, they'll splash really violently to try to intimidate humans into leaving. Sounds to me like they're pretty pissy. Laughing

I'm just sayin, they're in the lake where i skate, and they could easily grow big enough to eff me up if they wanted to, but there's no way they're keeping me from wakeskating.
