centexwake, if it has a hitch, yes. if not, no. depends on the winch but alot of them have it

im not sure about texas but in florida you only need a flag if it sticks out further than 4 feet from the rear of your vehicle. the only problem you might have is blocking your tag.

same with those bike racks that come out the hitch too...
I've never had a prob with the 5-0 with my winch on my hitch. Then again, I've met just about every cop in one nearby county for winchin.

i've had my winch on my truck... blocking license plate for probably greater than 10k miles.... never once been pulled over.. or even harrassed.... even when i get pulled over for other stuff they just ask what it is, and think it's really neat.... never had a problem

rig up some brake lights for it that plug into your trailer light receptacle... and put a red flag on it... you'll have done everything to prevent an accident and shouldn't have any liability issues.... and if you're still concerned relocate your plate

i just added some red reflectors to mine for night driving. you can get a set of 2 stick-on ones for like 3 bucks at walmart
