hey guys so i have 2 99 xp limited seadoos and since i sold my wakeboard boat been thinking about trying the doos in wakeskating.... i cannot put a tow pole on the back due to the hull design, and no spot to put a tow hook... they are two seaters but i have been told they will tow just fine considering they are both 951cc..... any ideas?

Possibly drill out a hole in the grab bar section behind the seat and just make a slip knot through it. Should work just fine if the grab bar is mounted under the seat, not to it.

you can get a ski rope hook at westmarine that you can screw into the fiberglass area underneath the grab bar.

like this:
http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/producte/10001/-1/10001/295316/377%20710%201487/712/Tow%20Ropes%20/Primary%20Search/mode%20matchallpartial/40/0?N=377%20710%201487&Ne=712&Ntt=Tow%20Ropes%20&Ntx=mode%20matchallpartial&page=CategoryDisplayLevel1&isLTokenURL=true&storeNum=23&subdeptNum=390&classNum=11060

these are the springloaded seats and the grab bar is just attached to the seat so that is why i was asking about where to tie the rope...... if i just tie it to the grab bar how will it work with the spring? i guess i can just get them on the water and try. i would love to get an actual tow pole like the wakeboard edition seadoos come with, but my seadoo mechanic says there is not a thick enough spot in the fiberglass to bolt it too Sad

you might not be able to add a pylon on, but you should be able to bolt on a ski-eye. i wouldn't recommend tying the rope to the back of the seat because it's usually just plastic and can break off (since it wasnt engineered to take the load of towing a rider).

Make like a 6 ft (just guessing on size) loop out of rated rope. Run it through the front eyelet and make sure the back is above the corners. The size of the rope has to be small enough so that the loop will not slide over the back corners. Tie an inline butterfly knot and connect to that. Make sure your legs are outside of the rope while driving. I have no idea if this would actually work but in theory there is a chance. Not sure about damage to the side of the hull either. May need some padding there. Who knows... kinda curious though if it would work. haha. Laughing

chances are that would not only destroy the gelcoat on the sides but it could get caught in the impeller or it could give the driver really bad rope burn or it would could pull the nose of the jetski around so much that you couldn't go straight. It might even pull the nose down into the water.

i'd say that thats a really bad idea...

yeah there would be too much downward force, why dont you get some fiberglass and resin and reinforce one part super thick so you can bolt on a little seadoo pylon

You should consider filling out your entire profile.....where do you live etc....If I knew you lived in Tampa, I have a mechanic who is very good at what he does and can outfit your ski with a pole with a lt=ittle ingenuity and creativeness I am sure it can be done....He has a ski similar that he races and we were talking about that very setup....Profile is Key!
