I got a Byerly Blend from the shop I work at and got a chance to ride it this weekend. It was the first and only bi-level I've ever ridden and I was impressed. I was a bit rusty because it was my first session of the year but I could definetly feel the differences in the deck. First thing I noticed, obviously, was the pop that it had. Way more than any regular deck. The weight will get some getting used to but I'm sure that once I get it dialed, it will work in my favor with extra consistency. Overall, as much as riding a regular concave deck looks a lot better, riding a bi-level is definetly a lot of fun.

How does this board edge? Is it like the byerly legacy because I always thought that that board edged horribly.

i agree with him to a point. concaves move more fluid and just look better visually in video to me. but aaron reed makes it look really good. bilevels seem to be sloppier. watch reed hansen, matt manzari, or stu and then watch nick, ben horan, or andy pastura. watch stu in esoteric and then in fun boots.

Exactly what I'm trying to say, regular decks look way more skate style. Whereas bi-levels look bulky and sloppy. The deck edges fine, I don't really notice that it's too slow. Regardless, it pops like hell which is what a bi-level is supposed to do right? No complaints here.

I beleive what he is saying by "Danny Hampson" is that mr. dan slays everything on a bi-level and makes it look skate styleeee to the max. Word.

wattsbutter hit the nail on the head. I can't stand seeing Danny on concaves, or the SST for that matter. I really really really really REALLY miss his style on a real bilevel, and i think he really made bi's look amazing on the water.

can someone explain why having a "skateboarding" style is so important

isnt this called wakeskating
i mean i get it , but the differences should be apparent
we dont have to look like a skater
just as long as you dont look like a strapper , or a rollerskater
