When you guys use skate shoes for wakeskating, do you pay attention to materials at all (for drainage and what have you)? The boardstop is getting ready to replenish their stock of mesh muniton CTs, but they also might try a few other styles for wakeskating as well.

Last summer I rode in the kostons and didn't pay attention to materials or drainage, but I'm not everyone and I don't want to screw this up! Laughing

electricsnow, drainage doesnt bother me as long as there is some type of little drain so its not like a pool haha

i like vulcanized shoes, they seemed to last longer and get alot better feel on the board

i ride the lakai koston selects, big fan of them, favorite shoes so far, not one scratch on them, mesh shoes would have been non existent by now haha

so, will the boardstop order be decided upon the choices of ws.commers? maybe you should have done a poll. Very Happy

Yea, I never look at materials or features really. Just pick a slim, vulc shoe and go with it. Four square inches of mesh is not going to make a big difference to me. Especially enough to warrant the usual price difference.

Today I rode in some DVS Huf 5 Mid's for the first time. They are a mixture of canvas with a little bit of suede. Relatively lightweight in the water (not much heavier than my buddy's Byerly 2's).

I think that the canvas helps a lot with keeping the shoes lightweight... plus the suede is in just the right spot to keep from ripping (right wear my Nike 6.0 wakes tore).

bmosing, It's the continuous strip of rubber around the shoe that is directly melted and pressed onto the sole and toe pieces are usually added on after for extra longevity. All Vans classic slips have them.

Nice, thanks for the feedback everyone!

Cheapskate, if there's a shoe you actually like, try to tell flixmaster. I'm not saying he'll definitely be able to order it, but he's always open to input.

One shoe I was looking at was one pair of the daytons (the black and red shoes because that's a safe color). I was also looking at the black/blue suede version of the carson and also the gray gav CT's (the one with the lime green stripe). But I was concerned about the suede and how people might feel about those in the water. It looks like tad doesn't have a problem with it. Cool
