Hey guys I'm kinda new to this sport(addiction, life, hobby, whatever you wanna call it), and I need help on choosing a board. I can ollie and mess around with stuff like that now (workin on shuvs) if that matters. I was thinking between about either an Integrity 38.65" board or an Oak Chicken Thief(is that too big?). I weigh aroung 100 pounds and am like 5ft 1in. I do have enough saved up cash for an Integ, but if the Oak does the job too( and isn't too big), then I could upgrade my vest too. Gracias Very Happy

Thanks Smile . but aren't they too heavy for me though, cause I'm only a little 100 pound thirteen year old. That's why I was wondering if an Oak is too long or not.

Mr. Wes, Welcome to the forums! Very Happy

If you decide on an oak, i would get an oak chubby. Its their shortest board. I wouldn't worry about weight too much, my 12 year old brother rides an 11-12 pound bi-level. But for your size you probably want something short, like the chubby or the integ! Either way you'll have a great board, if you can try and give them both a test ride.

i dont think board size matters to much when you first are learning, if anything i think a bigger board is easier to do shuvs and stuff.
but what ev Wink

Ya thanks again Cool , and so a forty inch is too big? I personally don't really like skates that are too wide, so the Chubby is too chubby for me, so it really came down to the Integ or the Oak. bUT O WELL, i'LL FIGURE SOMN OUT. Maybe I'll find enough cash to get em both! Very Happy

I'd say a 40 would be good as you could grow into it. Plus, as already stated, a slightly larger board will be more stable and easier to learn on. After getting to ride my Oak Horan yesterday for the first time, I'll always keep Oak as my main concave board.

Alright thank all of ya, I'll probably get the Integ team and the Oak Chicken Thief. I still have some b-day money on its way, so that and my own saved up stuff will give way more than enough. Thanks Smile Very Happy Laughing Cool

but won't you need a vest? I would start one and see how you like it (which my guess is you'll love it as it's your first board).

Toxis, sorry, I meant shoes. I have a vest it's just shoes that I need. I probably get sum DVS or 6.0's. And do you think the Chicken Thief would be too big? as it is a forty inch. -=AlexXx=-, thanks too, I'll check it.

Mr. Wes, you might get lucky like I did when I got my skate last year. I found my DVS shoes on eBay for $17 shipped. I also found my first skate on Craigslist for $50 which I sold after a couple months of shredding for the same price. The deals are there, just gotta look!

Toxis, Whoah that's cheap. I'm probably gunna get my Oak from my local shop, though, cause I want to support it all the way. But maybe, just maybe, I'll find a cheap Integrity.
