electricsnow, OWC orlando watersports complex aka odub. the cable park in orlando

i can go wake to wake ok and im sure if i rode it more i would do better but i think super tech tricks of sea-doo riding is more fun, when i sk8board i like doing street stuff and not vert stuff not b/c i cant do it but because thats wat i prefere. i think its all prefrance and i would like to see there be two divisions and just liek in sk8boarding some riders will ride both and some will dominate one and no one will cosider one less than the other. now that will be wakeskatopia!

ok who ever said that using a boat would even limit riders to wake tricks? All it does is open up another aspect of the sport by allowing waketricks to be apart of your run. everyone sems to bring up this street skating thing but hey when u go to a street skate park there is almost allways a quarter pipe and alot of transitions so if ur comparing the wake to transitions and quarterpipes your making a fool of your argument.

Sorry dudes, I was being sarcastic about the OWC thing. I thought it would have been clear, so that's my mistake.

As for the rest of this bogus, why are we even arguing about it if it's just about existence? I guess specifically to tribal, I never said that we shouldn't ever use boats for a comp. But my whole point was that there are many facets to wakeskating, so I'd personally like to see it promoted as such. Again, have some comps with a wake boat, some with a seadoo, and some like byerly's comp that are all encompassing. I personally don't see any need to limit the comps to just one towing vehicle. And I think it would keep things more interesting to watch. But this is me...

And one last comment in defense of the seadoos, they'll hardly be the death of wakeskating, especially with a company as supportive as seadoo (and I dont' have any vested interests in the company, this is my genuine opinion). I know for a fact that wakeskating has done more for seadoo in the past two or three years than wakeboarding had in the last ten. As a result, seadoo has been super supportive of wakeskating, not only with the free t's one could get at every pro tour event, but for awhile there one could get a nice wakeskate with the purchase of that wakeskating seadoo. I think that's rad, and it's a cool way for people to get introduced to the art.

And this is kind of a minor point, but the "street skating" comps you're referring to (catalyst) aren't true street skating comps--they're park comps. So realistically, if more cool crap was put out on the water (like rails, ollie bars/barrels, what have you) it would be more like street skating than park/transition skating. But whatever, I do see your point though.

E-snow I guess you missed my point as well.I'm not saying kill sea doo's just that we need a boat as well if this comp thing want's a chance of succeding.Variety is the spice of life.I don't know how many of you went to a pro tour stop last season but I did and it sucked.I won't go back untill they get boats on the roster.

Here's a thought. If they keep doing the pro tour behind a sea doo they will have to rename it the Pro Waterskating tour because there ain't no wake involved.

THIS IS ABOUT WHAT TO RIDE BEHIND AT COMPITITIONS! NOT WAT U RIDE BEHIND ON A DAILY BASIS.

I believe there should definately be a boat division and a ski division. that way no one would bicker about not having the practice behind one or the other. i see the sport splitting as far as compititions goes into the two divisions. sure people would still ride both but they would also accel in one or both and choose wat class they want to ride in...no complaining about wat SINGLE tow vehicle will be used.

as far as comparing the sport to that of skateboarding i think that "street" skating is what people like ryan lemons do, with huge tricks that people are confused on how he did it. i think that grubb represents more of a "vert" skating style. vert skating is a competition oriented style of skateboarding, big airs and fun to watch for spectators that dont know anything about the sport. either one is fine but to me there are two different styles.

i hear ya Headhuntermx4! i think that they should have different classes..boat, ski, and cable..that would give way to a whole new Comp. and let the riders show their skills on all levels ski, boat, or cable...it would also make it alot more competative i think...
