The premium cable network announced Wednesday (April  that production on a new run of "Eastbound & Down" will begin later this year and will premiere in 2010.
"Eastbound & Down" premiered this winter and starred Danny McBride ("Pineapple Express") as self-destructive former major leaguer Kenny Powers, forced to return to his North Carolina hometown to rebuild his life and get another shot at the big leagues.
"'Eastbound & Down's' raucous comedy sparked a loyal and enthusiastic following that grew throughout the season, and we’re happy to bring the show back for more innings," says Michael Lombardo, president, Programming Group and West Coast Operations, HBO. "It will be fun to see what happens to Kenny in season two."
The six-episode first season of "Eastbound & Down" was executive produced by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Chris Henchy, Jody Hill, Danny McBride and Ben Best. |

Nice! Everyone I know that's seen the show says loves it, so I couldn't imagine they'd be turned down on a second season.

one of the best shows on that HBO has ever had
and yes Danny McBride and Will Farrell are always funny in whatever they do its a given
but the Andrew Daly amazingly funny in that show
