the pull start rope pulled out and when i try to put it back on it works once then it pulls out again. it wont wind it self back on. Any help? should i just take to a small engines shop?

Just get a new pull start bit and bolt it on??

the rope probably just broke or the knot pulled through off the top of the pull start mechanism. just replaced the one on the mercury. might be a spring or pin as well, if you can't figure it out, take it to the shop have them diagnose it and try and fix it yourself.

gonna be up there still not this weekend but next?

Happened to me on my first winch. We just unbolted the pull start and used a rope with a stick at the end of it. Works great cause you can really pull hard without having to worry about anything breaking LOL.
