sell the sea-doo and by a malibu!!!! the riders are to limited behind a ski, but behind a boat, there are no limits, you have the best of both worlds, w 2 w, lip trips, and rails.... it think that all the other pros are scared that Grubb would dominate the water if they used a boat....

PIRATE, i think of it that way to, at the local comps we had huge turn outs and we did it behind a boat the first two times and only one kid did anything w2w. so on the third round we got them to do a vote and majority ruled on the ski..and a lot of people complained and the one kid that actually did w2w tricks didnt care and the kids complaining were the ones doing lip tricks. i didnt understand. since there was such a big showing for wakeskating they might do their own tournament wakeskating only and have both a boat and a skate devision. also a big trick comp with like trick attempts or something. i think that would be totaly awsome and make progression in the right way. i dont know why they dont do a wakeskate only tour? |

WORD. i also think that at comps if you set up pool to pool gap the hight of a loading dock and used a winch it would be way cool. and you would get pumped cause the crowd would be right there chearing you on |

tribal, how is it hindering progression? i would love to hear your reasoning?
Hangout_withda_wang_out, how come brian didnt win worlds? hmmmm? there was a boat there. dont get me wrong i thnk he is good and stuff but no one is afraid of him and his crapalite boards. also i would love to see you bring you malibu out to the gaps in sfumato! the pool gap a boat wont pull u up fast enough and there is no way in hell that youll get a boat down into the kickflip gap. ive riden both and i know that w/o my ski i would not be progressing. wakeskating is a poor mans sport compared to the high dollars wakeboardin and thats why i thnk regular boats and skis will forever dominate wakeskating. |

Headhuntermx4 to me the progression of wakeskating is first learning tech tricks small in the flat's and lip but then taking those tricks W2W.Not to mention you can do alot bigger re-entry stuff with a bigger wake and have a nicer lip to boot. And I'm not saying they need a comp boat, just a boat.Riding behind a $10,000 Sea doo doesn't make an affordable sport in my eyes,my boats worth half that.As far as sick gaps go,yes sea doo's do have a place but where are these in the comps, not.
E-snow It's funny you don't remember much w2w in sfumato because to me the thing that stands out the most in that entire movie is Reed's w2w kickflip. That move is big, tech and committing. That is the progression of wakeskating in my eyes.[/b] _________________ http://www.bellacoolahelisports.com/index.html

who said you needed a $70,000 wakeboard boat to wakeboard. Ever herd of OWC, how about on old nautique or an old mastercraft with a little ballast shizzle you can still get a decent wake. Besided most people jump into the huge wakes before they no what thee doing and dont lear how to do anything properly. The only thing cheaper about wakeskating in my opinion is you dont need bindings. Winches can be used for wakeboarding, seadoos can be for rails and surfing in surf ect and all. You can have tons of fun on anything without a 70,000 dollar boat so i dont know why your saying wakeskting so much better cause you dont need a boat _________________ oh great now i have ink all over the screen |

sfumato had a decent amout amount of ski riding. i personaly am not saying that one is better than the other, i prefer a ski tho, but my point is dont say skis are hindering progression and all that. i believe that comps should have a boat division and a ski division. |

Heh. You haven't seen his w2w riding? Try perfect TS W2W shuvit to indys. Clean HS 360s. Not many people can outdo him on the wake. |

Grouch, hahah nice, i think there is a alot of truth to that (im not talking about parky) but with alot of riders. I think alot of people are scared of the wake to wake because in alot of cases its fing hard to do good stuff. Everyone can lipslide but how many people who only want sea doos can jump the wake consistent? _________________ oh great now i have ink all over the screen |

I didn't say there wasn't any wake to wake stuff in sfumato--of course I remember reed's kf, or danny's back to back kickflips, etc etc. But there's a TON of small stuff that is memorable to me as well. Thomas used to kill that wake to wake crap, but things have gone in a different direction for him...The point is that wakeskating (or in this case, sfumato) isn't dominated by wake to wake stuff, so neither should the comps. All I'm proposing is a litte bit of variety.
And really, what's OWC? _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

E-snow did we say dominate or just exist.Just because it's behind a boat doesn't mean everything done has to be w2w.And just because Thomas is over w2w doesn't mean the rest of the world is.
Vance yeah I was going to mention the shifty as well as Reed's method but the point works. _________________ http://www.bellacoolahelisports.com/index.html
