I build my first winch last spring. It was very basic looking but it worked well. Now i am thinking that i want my winch to have some sex appeal. So what is your favorite style of winch frame?

PoopSkater, yup... going from a 5 hp w/a clutch to a TAV2+6.5 hp that will probably be pushing 8-9 hp when i am done rebuilding/tuning it. yes i am trying to figure out a dope frame design to build right now... hopefully i will be walking the line out in a month or so.

for something you can build, a rectangle style box frame. due to the design you can just sit on the back of it, you dont even need to stake it down. Lollar has a good pic of DVSKATE's old winch, which nows belongs to Tross Wakeskates. That thing must have pulled thousands of people by now

I'd say one that you can sit on. Even better if it had a cup holder.

There's so much diversity in winching, it's great to see everyone's different take when they design and build their own. Smash Smash Smash
