In a wheelchair for 21 years after a motorcycle accident, gets bit by a brown recluse spider and after some rehab he can walk again:

Side note: I've heard on Animal Planet and Discovery that lots of scientists believe the cure for some diseases can come from spider venom. Well it looks like they could be right!
