why build your own when there's so many good ones already made with a lot of thought and design behind them? Good luck to you anyway!

Use Gorilla glue or PL Premium.

Building a skate is a great way to get into the sport, or further immerse yourself in it. I built my first wakeskate, it only cost me $50 when most boards, even beginner ones were retailing for $180+ around here.

There are a ton of guides on this site on how to build your own skate, use the Search feature and you will be sure to find them.

If you really want to make one id say try to find the same glue wakeskate companies use or something close to it. If you cant find that i wouldnt try.

My brother and I made one with gorrilla glue. I rode pretty well but wasn't stiff enough and didnt have much rocker. It also fell apart pretty fast.

If you dont own a wakeskate just go buy one. It will save you time and you wont have to ride something that will fall apart.

Birdman472, Time is money!! go Buy one, ride it then build one, but at least you'll have something to ride while your's is drying or letting the glue set up.

get a new blank and work on your shape first. it's a very good starting point w/o laying your own plies.

OTT Productions, I would buy one but even the most beginner boards are 120$+. Plus I also have a bit of time because it will be a few months before the water is warm here in Ontario

Birdman472, http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=m38.l1313&_nkw=wakeskate&_sacat=See-All-Categories

there are plenty of wakeskates here under $120 so saying "i would buy one but most boards are 120+"......is just a lame excuse

I've got time to build it and I am going to build it in shop class so Ill even get a mark for it. Should be a fun experience and thanks to zoso for the ideas I think im going with pl premium Very Happy

Birdman472, here is a step by step guide that should be able to answer the majority of your questions, but if not the whole build my own skate topic comes up every now and again so a quick search will also get you some answers.

If you still have some questions just post 'em up in this thread and I'm sure someone will be able to help.
