The Roman Coliseum is a pretty sweet building located in the middle of the city center in Rome, Italy. It is supposedly one of the best works of the Romans. It was capable of seating around fifty thousand spectators to watch some gnar shows like people fighting each other or animals being slaughtered for fun. It has been estimated that over five hundred thousand people and over a million animals died in the Coliseum games. It would have been sweeter if it was even more.
Construction of the Coliseum began around the years seventy to seventy-two AD. The great emperor Vespasian decided that he wanted a big place to be entertained by the deaths of Roman people and animals. However, the emperor never lived to see the completion of the Coliseum because he died of excessive diarrhea in the year seventy-nine AD. His son Titus lived to see the completion of the Coliseum and decided it would be cool to sacrifice nine thousand animals on the opening day.
Once it was completed it was used to host gladiator shows and many other events. Animal hunts were very popular in which animals from Africa and the Middle East would be shipped in and then killed for the spectator’s pleasure. One of the most epic events to ever happen in the Coliseum is when a pretty rad dude named Marcus killed over eleven-thousand animals and ten-thousand gladiators in less than one hundred days. This sounds like ancient form of George Bush.
After a few years the Romans got bored of everyone being killed and all these animals being slaughtered so they thought it’d be pretty sweet to just build a church inside the thing and make the arena a cemetery. A lot of the Roman citizens got angry about this so a very popular Roman family bought the Coliseum and made it into this gnar-kill castle to protect Rome. After this Pope Sixtus decided that the Coliseum should be upheld as a monument for all the martyred Christians. All the kooks of Rome agreed and for then they were happy.
Today the Coliseum is one of Rome’s most popular tourist attractions. It receives millions of visitors every year. The Pope sometimes holds sacred Catholic religious events in the Coliseum and throws some pretty crazy parties. Sometimes when the citizens of Rome are feeling bored they hold gatherings inside which can include concerts, watching The Gladiator, winch fests on the aqua ducts, and sometimes even dance offs. If you’re wondering about visiting the Coliseum, you should. I’ve learned it has a very rich history full of fights, murders, church events, cemeteries, and dance competitions. Rumor even has it the first wakeskate was invented there. So don’t hesitate to visit the radical Coliseum of Rome, it’s sweet! _________________ 985 |

JIM-BRANTON,
Be happy you get to do these papers where you can't bulljive the whole thing now. Get to college and every paper requires citations. It sucks. _________________ wake____ing=love/life |

We had to do papers with citations in them during HS. Thank god the base english class that most colleges require was offered at my HS as a Dual-Credit class. It's the same amount of work, but in two semesters instead of one! The teacher also added in bs vocabulary homework to help our grades out. _________________

wakeboarderdave,
I know we did in some papers, but in history and the like, the teachers didn't ask. I guess i got some easy classes. It was fun. _________________ wake____ing=love/life |

| gotta love college and the MLA format. I absolutely hate it, especially how precise the works cited page has to be. At least to our instructor, she pulls out a ruler and measures margins and everything. |
