I could build that exact thing for under $1000

Do some research before making a bold, blind statement.
I can make this exact thing for less than $1000 too! Lets see...
Honda Engine:... .....$600
Tav:.......................$180
Ceramic Bearings:...$250
..............................$1030
Ah crap... i still need an axle, frame, spool, powercoating, sprocket, sprocket hub, chain, bolts, rope, handle, fairlead, trailer mount...
You're right this thing is rediculously over priced. haha~!

Gnarly Dancer 42, He was only showing Supra that he could not build that same exact winch for under a grand. I don't think you need a $600 engine, but you don't need a lot of things in life.

Not your every day run of the mill china part's The parts are all 50mm F1 karting part's D.I.D race chain light weight frame and a HONDA 9hp gx270 C.N.C stainless spool powder coated ceramic bearing'$ provide a super clean power delivery and pull. You can slide the motor for chain adjustment. Not are first BBQ IF you will' we got over riding behind a winch that just work's :!:Yoke winch work's very well deep water starts a 280lb person stanless steel nut's & bolts more riding less fixing' salt water friendly |

I would stop bugging Yoke about their prices. Why.. because if it is truly overpriced then people won't buy it. Then they will lower their price.
Honestly if you complaining about the prices of manufactured winch build one your self and you will realize that it's not that easy.

you dont need a welder, shop, torch, or grinders... all you need is the want, a few hundred bucks (700 max), and a drill...
you dont need a welder to make a frame... my friend made his out of a old school desk... all bolted together and made a spool out of disc grinders and long thick bolts...
companies want you to think its hard but its really not... just bolting together and knowing what parts to buy and right gear ratios... all the info are on these sites...

We all know its not hard to make your own winch thats works. WE just put a little more pride in are board riding gear you dont ride a pos board why ride a pos winch />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------@#_ China parts FTW />------@#_ copy cat grinch winch parts is all they are your winches.

sorry to burst your bubble but how is your winch better than any other besides maybe you have a honda engine... im telling you a briggs and stratton or a suburu work just as well if not better (and i bought my suburu from harbor freight for 230 bucks)... if you really want to improve the sport sell something different.... actually improve the winch instead of just build one that anyone could .... then sell it for 3 k
if you want a better pull then you have to look into other transmissions... using a cvt is not going to make it better than a DIY winch... if you want an easier walk/swim out put a releasing spool on there... but then again thats already been done... and that also is not hard to DIY
or how about look into R&D on using variable rpm controlling engines.... work on getting cruise control for winching so you get the same pull every time regardless of the driver...
ive worked on and helped with all of those ideas... what is yoke doing?
look i have nothing against your company... hell i probably even rode with some of the same guys you ride with when i lived in jax... but dont tell people building winches is hard, or you dont get the quality of a bought winch... unless your buying a hive i suppose...
my point is anyone with the right drive can make a winch if you have the time to learn... i have helped hundreds of people build winches all over the world in the past 5 years mostly via email... i have no problem with you selling winches but i just like people to know that if they have a drill and a socket set they could make a winch that pulls just as good as regular commercial winches...
