Authorship is the difference. If you're gonna quote someone, then tell me who said it so I can decide if I should read it, skim it, or skip it altogether.

Additionally, I'd like to know if this was something printed in a respected publication like the New York Times, or if it was it just another blog from someone demanding that I change my views because they say so.

Some of the argument makes sense but its mostly opinionated and bias
no one of moderate, individualized political intelligence would be stupid enough to make such statements

im 16 and im pretty positive im more informed than whoever wrote that is.

My brief political analysis: Vote for yourself by yourself (dont buy into the popular idea, investigate it to see if its right for you) and also we focus too much on federal government instead of local. Do you even know the name of your counties representatives? for example too often counties screw up their budgets by spending more on investing in sports arenas than schools. then the schools end up in the pooper then the already in debt federal government has to come in and help em out. So basically you screwed your local government by not being involved, your local gov screwed the federal gov and now the federal gov is going to screw you and the rest of the country with more taxes.

The government is the people. Every time you hear the word GOVERNMENT replace it with the word YOU. YOU are the GOVERNMENT, you pay TAXES. Last example: lets get the GOVERNMENT to bail out all the failed businesses. lets get YOU to bail out all of the failed businesses.
