-=AlexXx=-, It isn't "going around", this is Windows, you have to know how to prepare for stuff like that.
Here is a list of freeware that I use to keep myself safe:
Spybot Search and Destroy
SypWare Blaster
CCleaner (registry cleaner, good for minimizing disk use)
AVG Free Anti-Virus
and just use Windows Firewall
You are now officially "computer safe" for Windows.
For all the download links, refer to www.majorgeeks.com
Hope this helps.
One more thing, always click update now when a Windows Update is available. I know it's no fun, but these are usually security updates and are vital to keep Windows running properly. |

dylo, Corporate America > MAC
I will agree MAC is better for the recreational user, that happens to have a lot of money to spend. |

I'd say the argument between PC and Mac is one of the best arguments today, but with the emergence of Vista in service pack 1, and how much of a price difference there is between PC and Mac, I'm not going to complain about what I have.
At the end of the day, you need something that works, and Windows works. |

coming from someone who has probably never really used a mac.... playing on a friends mac for 10 seconds dosnt count
the reason these arguments generally are won by mac owners is because most mac owner USED to own a pc.... they know how great the difference is.... pc owners on the other hand only know pc.... if they knew mac, then they would cease to be pc owners lol _________________ PAVT since '05/'06 |

Firefox on Windows 7 > Firefox on OSX. The difference in speed alone is enough to make me wanna pick up a PC for general use (when my current PC needs replacing). Since I've installed Windows 7 on my Macbook Pro, I haven't even wanted to open Firefox or Safari in OSX. _________________ facebook.com/TheLiquidPlayground

JeffKnox, I think you are forgetting the financial aspect. Some people just cannot or will not invest that much money into a computer.
Sure, there are more features, and yes I am a familiar MAC user(brother owns a macbook), and I am completely okay with what the PC has to offer, and have been using it my entire life.
To each their own. |
