Is it just me or do these things look like a pile of crap? Wood, plastic, knock-off motors????? Maybe they'd hold up for skateboardin like in their pic, but add water resistance and I bet they dont last for shizzle. |

ugly, the knock offs they sell are just a cheap alternative to their honda winches
I've heard good things about the New winches and imo the fact that the frame is made of wood is irrelevant it's not like the winch sits in the water while you get a pull _________________ Go Balls Deep Or Go Home |

"Here's the way I see it, McLOVIN. Guy puts a fancy guarantee on a box 'cause he wants you to feel all warm and toasty inside. Because they know all they solda ya was a guaranteed piece of ****. That's all it is, isn't it? Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed, I will. I got spare time." -Tommy Boy
Just seems like wood or starboard will eventually 'loosen up' due to vibrations and torque that the frame recieves from being under load at different angles etc....and will then rattle apart. On a skateboard, there isnt as much resistance as a wakeskate, so its probably fine in that application, but w/ the stress it takes wakeskating i'd be curious if it can withstand a season. |

Chris Crafts dont fall apart. Wood has a pretty long marine history. Hell cars used to be made of wood, and they take alot more torque and vibration than a winch. Not to mention a wood frame would naturally absorb the vibration. |

True true...guess time will tell. Seems like somewhere along the line, someone would have tried a wood build as thats the most readily available, easy to work with material. All I ever see are metal frames, which is why I'm skeptical. |

O I agree, I believe in the long run a metal frame is the way to go. But who knows Robin is pretty handy with the wood. |

So does anyone have on of these?
If so is the motor mount set up so you can just unbolt the motor and slide it back for chain tension? Also, how much line can the spool hold? |
