I sure hope that the child support gets paid before the hookers cheapskate & Tell me you're joking when you say you pay for pu$$y. I'd like to believe that anyone who has ever waterdanced wouldn't have to
Back on subject...I went to college right after high school and have never been so miserable in my life. I just wasn't ready to soak up what was getting poured on by the profs.
Instead, I took off to the mountains to snowboard. I would have never predicted I would do that. I was certain I was going to go, get out as fast as I could and then start making some money.
I stayed two years with plans on staying longer and never thought about school once... but during my second summer, waiting for the third winter, I took off to Oklahoma to visit two dudes that had lived in the place above me during the past winter. We had been using a wakeskate on an indo board roller that winter and they kept saying I had to come out and wakeskate. I wakeboarded all the time during middle school and high school back home so I thought that I once I was there I would try the skate but wakeboard most the trip.
I tried the skate the first day after wakeboarding awhile and never touched the wakeboard again the entire trip. That was in June. After the trip, I went back to CO itching for more. That's when I started thinking about home and once I thought of home, I thought of school.
A few weeks later I made arrangements, moved home, signed up for school, my parents were pumped, they offered to pay, I let them and then took out loans anyway so I could buy a ski and as much gas as I needed.
I wakeskated all summer that summer and for many more after having as much fun as I had in CO but getting classes done all the while.
I guess I mention all this only to let the young'ens on here know that when someone tells you (like many told me when I took off for CO) that "you had better go to school right away or you'll never go back," you can tell them to suck it/they're wrong/you never know _________________ thrashdad.com |

labellethrasher, I like to throw in some humor in my post But actually, we ALWAYS pay for tha poon-tang. The child-support is the first thing paid. Although I don't see why I have to pay almost $700 a month when my ex wife is in the 6 figure range _________________ It wasn't me |

if you pay for dinner a movie and the drinks before getting poon from your gf, you are paying for poon. so its really no different than a prostitute. it would be like having a GF with a crack habit and a huge car note, just give her the money and u get what you want.
and im with cheapskate on this one. once you get married you = 1/2 of everything you previously owned. even if she has a steady new job and a rich new husband, you still loose. so why not spend 400 on buds. _________________ https://vimeo.com/moontowerco |

I think alot of people go to college straight from high school because that is the status quo. Most of the people that are in college usually have no idea what they want to do.
I personally believe that it should be mandatory to take at least a minimum of one year off between high school and college. I think most would learn more about themselves and what they want to do with their life in that one year than they will have learned in their entire lives at that point. They would gain a much better understanding of the world around them and I think they would be a lot more focused on school if they chose to go that route.
I think I am pretty driven and went to school right after high school. I guarantee that if I had some time off before I went to school, then I would have made a ton of different choices in my education, life goals, and career path. |

billyjodonjimbo, all through high school i said i wanted to take a year off, go travel and just see what is out there. I lived my whole life in the same area. One month after graduation I was picked up in a truck and headed cross country to miami. Best decision i EVER made.
My only problem with college is I dont want to waste my time and money taking classes towards something that im not sure i want to do. i dont know what i want to do for my life other than have fun. so far ive been doing really well at that and have not had any real problems. sure, ive had my low points but everything has worked out.
im still continuing my education, just not in a school setting. im always getting into new subjects of interest and learning more about this world and life.
im sure ill find myself in college... when im ready. _________________ Scuba Steve's Wakeskate Film Libray |

its just about getting the piece of paper with your name and the school's name on it like some might think. |
I could not disagree with this kind of statement more. I go to school to learn, not to get a piece of paper. |
typo... my bad... i meant to say that its NOT just about getting that piece of paper...
i went to college to learn also, but i also went to get that diploma and get the hell on with my life. when i received it... i thought that it would walk me straight into a career making 50k/yr.... i was completely wrong. being successful in anything takes lots and lots of hard work, whether it being finishing school, starting a career, or working as a tradesman.
there's always ladders to climb. mine happened to be grinding through five years of crappy pay until my work finally spoke for itself enough to put me on the top rung. _________________ north jones |

To be honest, I didn't find it offensive. I saw it as genuinely inquisitive. But that's how I read it. And of course, if nick felt that bad about it, he could easily delete it. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

2nded, and 2nded almost word for word.
Threads about going to college pop up every year on web forums. The only thing different about this thread is that Nick's name is in the title. _________________ facebook.com/TheLiquidPlayground

JeffKnox, To your surprise not everyone wants to be a doctor or a lawyer these days, there are TONS of amazing jobs out there and most don't require degrees, and if it takes you a piece of paper to prove that your not retarded, then i feel sorry for you, people find out that I'm a pretty intelligent guy within the first 15 mins of a conversation not after 4-5 years at a university |
