your first wakeskating trip

do you remember what your first actual "wakeskating" trip was.

Mine was at lake whippoorwill. I saw the bonus section with kyle hyams in "In its Travels" and thought, "wow a lake with a campground right next to it! PEFECT" so i did some research found the KOA and talked my dad into it. Pulled the boat up there and had the time of my life. Dirk and i literally rode till our hands were bleeding. I have never been so sore in my life. After 6 straight days of nonstop riding, i thought my arms were gonna fall off.Also i thought i had witnessed glass before, but you dont know glass till you ride some whippoorwill glass, its magical.

first thing i saw when i got there, little did i know, it was butter on the otherside...

and we rode a little (our first sets on the whip)




my dad was gettin sick of my 2000 Sportster so he wanted to check out the new lineup of malibus. Dirk and i were going crazy, we thought my dad was gonna go buy a boat. Wakesetters have always been my favorite boat, but i had never seen one in person. Finally my chance!! So we get to the dealer ship and the first thing we see is this


i start freaking out "OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG thats the silver edition wakesetter!!!!!!! thats my dream boat " as soon as we get out of the car, we sprint over to it. I take like 50 pictures of it. Just going crazy... I wanted to show my mom and all my friends i actually saw one in person! So finally we got the OK to get in it, shoes off though. I felt like such a stud sitting in the drivers chair. and thought "HEY! the chair swivels! it cant get any better this!" So dirk and Myself procede to take 50 more pictures of us sitting in it, pretending to drive etc.


finally after my dad sends us to the pawn shop next door so he can talk "business." We go back to our humble little campsite. I had so much fun lookin at all those boats. I didnt want to leave, i just wanted to sleep in that silver edition

The next morning we wake up, this is what we see out the window...



i was in utter shock. It was the most beautiful thing i have ever seen. Just amazing.

the dirkmiester and myself dont waste another minute. we seize the opportunity of the most epically perfect glass we have ever seen.















after a long day of riding, we were once again at our highest level of satisfaction.

So the next day comes around. same glass same sunrise everything is perfect. We get out on the boat and ride all day again. I get a phone call from my dad saying he bought a boat!!! Dirk and I about sh*t our pants. We were going absolutely crazy! screamin yelling just going nuts we couldnt believe what was happening. It was too good to be true. Then we remembered what the Date was... April 1st. At this point we are confused and didnt know what to do. So we pick my dad up at the dock hug him, kiss him, thank him non stop. Then we get to the middle of the lake and we get "APRIL FOOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH" i swear i wanted to punch him in the eye. We couldnt believe it, but it was totally something my dad would do to us. So we sit there for a couple silent minutes and my dad suddenly points toward the campground and says "HEY whats that?!?!?!?!" We slowly look over only too see what had just pulled up...


I have never gone crazier in my life. I cant even explain the amount of yelling screaming hugging and dancing that was going on. Seriously you cant even imagine it. It was probably the happiest day of my life. It was truely a dream come true. I never thought i would see the day when i could actually use a Wakesetter whenever i please (or had money for gas) After 15 minutes of thanking my dad and telling him he shouldnt have done it. i was so so so ready to put this bad boy in the water. So we did, right away. Goddamn i couldnt wait to get in the captains chair. It was cake compared to driving my other boat. I just absolutely love every inch of her.

we rode that boat for about 4 more days nonstop 8 to 8 everyday.
freshwater + going to bed late + half ass showers = pretty sweet hairdews

when we were eating lunch, i am sitting there relaxing, next thing i know BAM. Something slaps me in the leg so i look down. This is what i see

Such a good time, i wouldnt trade this experience for anything. I loved every second i was there and i wanna go back. But most of all I gotta thank my dad. If i didnt have him i dont know what i would do. He's everything to me. He does so much for me I dont know how i could every repay him. I appreciate every little thing he does for me. He is seriously the best dad ever. Anything he ever asks me to do, I'm on it right away, trying to make him happy just like he's made me happy for the past 17 years. I know that how he has raised me is going to make me into a very respectable person someday and he is the one i thank for that and everything that i have right now. I cant live without him, the rest of my family, my girlfriend and my best friends... All of you guys have some certain positive impact on my life, whether its making me think about stuff or just bringing my vibes back up. I appreciate it a lot...

With out my dad this trip wouldnt have been possible. I am so thankful he brought me. It was the time of my life...

good work My first taste of the sweet addiction was on fastgreens G3, refusing to wakeboard. I saw the CWB Lucky sittin' there. Got up the 1st. try and thought......I am in love. Sorry, no pics to add. Wakeskating has changed the way I look at life now. I absolutely love being out on the Bayou Great thread;

me oury went to stoke stock or as i like to call it bobby fails stock

we drove down there. to the keys that is. got down there at night. got a hotel room.
oury went out to a party that night. endup coming back at like 3 in the morning or some crap
after getting chased down the road by some 15 year old kids tophat and alex were there.

that morning we woke up. Got ready to go to stoke stock. We all were soo excited omg.
after hours of trying to figure out who was old enough to drive lol. We went out to a magical place to ride. After being there 10mins we got a ticket for not having a life vest. And left......

We went back to boca with alex and tophat and eric to hit the fau gap after deciding that our drive to the keys was the biggest waste of lives ever. Hit the fau gap till dark then went to jupiter. After going to jupiter a hurricane or some crap decided to hit florida. So we decided to drive home. On the way home we met gale force winds and rain that made driving fun. After driving for hours finally made it home.
