kraus6451, how much do you weight?

Could you have someone weld you a frame for free?

Will you have $$ to upgrade later?

you could do it for under $500 if you buy a cheap engine but it wont last long.

I made mine for $175 but it's a piece of shizzle. It has a 5 horse and a clutch. It will do shallow starts pretty easily but its definitely a piece. I'm looking to re-do it now.

Lesson learned - Do it once, do it right.

Found the engine. All metal was bought at a recycle yard for less than $30 total. At that point all I needed was the clutch, pillow balls and axle and rope. Found those for $150. The welding was done for free. When you go cheap on everything and get lucky it will come together, but at best all you have is a winch that needs a lot of tinkering and is still a POS.

After using it for a year I'm redoing the frame and ditching the clutch for a tav2 and hoping it will work out.

The English language is a beautiful thing... too bad it's like art now. You really have to search to find it done right.
