wakemitch, it's a line from an old saturday night live commercial. It had mike myers as this kind of snooty sounding guy, and it was a commercial for the finest toilet money could buy. They used this dart gun as like a visual analogy for how poo would react to to that toilet. Every time they said something...I can't even remember a good example, the little dart would just fall off. So basically, they're just letting you know that this toilet won't accept any skids or what have you. The commercial ends with "oh, and tell them you already know the part about the ca-ca."
The format of the commercial was actually like a fine car commercial, if you can picture something like that.
I love that you posted this, scott! Dave e-mailed that to me in august and I've been meaning to post it, but just never did. A fair number of the threads are in tact too. And there ARE a lot of interesting people on there, like philip basino used to post, george daniels (under a few different names as the years went on, but they weren't secretive), and of course people like paco, thomas, ZERO, etc. I miss those days too, but I'm fond of just about everything that's awesome and in the past, so it's nothing new.
And that page is cool to me because that post detailed the first cassette I was trying to track down. (edit: my first "collector" cassette, not a rider.) I didn't think the addiction would spiral, but I dig it. At that time I was just trying to figure out what was what with those boards...
Like scott said, definitely browse through that stuff if you have any sort of interest. There will be some gaps because the site crashed a couple of times (and lost some juicy stuff along the way ) but there's a lot of history between what's on here and what's been archived. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

Jboss, I totally dissed you, and I felt bad after I thought about it. Thank YOU for posting the archive link.
I gave scott a way too much credit there.
I swear, that archival site (in general) provides countless hours of enjoyment! I've been poking around before, but now I'm back at it and it all makes me smile! _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

frye,
Pipo, I'm not entirely sure. I asked about him at the Kampus booth in 2006 when I went to the expo, because they did have one of his pro models on display. His birthday was on that weekend so they did speak to him, and I thought they told me he was working some sort of construction. I'm not entirely sure what he's up to anymore, but it would be nice to get in touch with him. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

Zero was (eric) Zero Wallman--the dude who was responsible for every cassette analog. You have a butter book--he has a nice interview in there. It's funny too because I think in the "attack on authority" issue, he had some article thing about butter and an ad that was supposed to go in the mag, and then zero made some comment about how he would be more obliging, had he not been made out to sound like "unfrozen caveman analog maker." Another old saturday night live reference for you funny shreds out there.
OTT Productions, he's riding. I received a pic about a month ago and he was hitting a little pool gap by derek seaman's place. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |
