i herd some just blow up within a few hours of running and some just keep running for a lifetime. i think the reason why some just blow up is because people dont give the engine time to break in, they just run it hard right out the box. thats my best guess. for cheap you just cant beat um. Smile im guna give one a try and see how it does

Check your newspaper. Harbor Freight has a coupon for their 6.5hp blue motor for $99. I just picked one up. The first step in my skiing/wakeskating winch build. Only available in stores, not online.

i also have a knock off on my other winch right now and its running fine.... had it all summer but im sure its just a matter of time before i blow the head on that one too

That is why I paid the extra $20 to get the year and a half coverage plan. I used to have to sell these coverage plans at my old job, and you just get commission and they are dumb. But you really can get a new item for like ANY reason. So I figure with the plan, and a crappy motor, I'll end up not too bad.

I'm not even going to wakeskate with the winch till next summer anyway. It is going to be used for skiing urban rails and crap this winter first, so it shouldn't be too hard on it.
