what program are you using to edit and/or import? I've heard of people having issues with this camera, my buddy had to use a mini dv vcr to transfer to mini dv and then use a mini dv cam to import it to his comp. |

mattttt60, go on Cnet.com and search for a dvd ripper or something like that and that should solve it unless it didn't finalize it because mine doesn't finalize it even if it seems like it did but if it can play on a computer than its finalized, _________________

Sony makes all sorts of "Handycams." It's just the name they put on all their consumer/prosumer (vx1000-2100's, HDR-FX's, etc.) camcorders.
mattttt60, If you can, i'd get a different camera. Use MiniDV tapes. In the world of cameras, rarely is the newest consumer innovation by any means the best choice for anyone that wants anything but to watch their videos on a TV. Most, if not all MiniDV camcorders will have a firewire port. Your computer, however, may not. So it's possible that you'll also need to buy a firewire port/card that will fit into the back of your computer (ultimately the motherboard). Firewires, coupled with a good capturing program, will transfer your videos at full quiality, and at playback speed.
If buying new shizzle isn't possible right now (understandable), if you haven't yet, try going to My Computer, then right clicking the DVD drive icon, and pressing explore. This will open the DVD's files in windows explorer and if they're the right file type (i think they are), you will be able to use them in whatever program you have to edit with. _________________ - Evan Molina |
