Catalyst, i dont remember seeing anyone on tour do a surface spin...

Parky, you dont pop any of your tricks? is that why you ride finless? just curious.

noe he does pop his tricks just not all of em, and what i mean about the tour is its boring just watching a bunch of slides on the wake and thats it. If u were at wakefest you would have seen how wakeskating was treated like a side show. Dont get me wrong i love lip tricks and and even surface spinned ones because most of em are tech its just the general audiance at these events like big airs and crazy flip spin things with grabs and foods that only are eaten off sticks. Going off a boat would pull alot of spectators heads out of there asses and really raise the bar on the riding seen. I mean you can still do all the lip stuff all the in the flats stuff all the rails but you would also see tricks done in the air. Im just saying the pro tour needs to clean up there act if there going to host an even like that.

Catalyst I was at wakefest and I couldn't agree with you more.Wakeskating was like a side show.A boat would definatly liven it up.I guess the general issue is wakeskating is so small [read not alot of sponsors] so sea-doo seeing this as a way to make pwc's cool, has dumped a bunch of money into it.It sucks, hopefully a boat company will step up to the plate.

Yeah scott, jake's correct on that one. I forgot about her...otherwise I totally agreed with you.

And I kind of dislike this subject, only because it's like the cool thing about wakeskating was that you didn't need a 50,000 boat, and now that's all people want to see. I do agree that the pro tour makes wakeskating a side show, but I guess I don't really care about impressing those muppets anyhow. I'm just glad there's a place for some wakeskaters to compete and make a little bit of extra cash (and some rims-haha).

Someday there will be a better contest for the riders...the toejam seemed like a really good start because the event was all encompassing. But I still don't want to push jetski's out of the picture. Some of the jetski footage in sfumato is some of my favorite (thomas' body varial, and then his surface 180 to shove). And don't forget that boats weren't even used on the asterisk trip.

And I'm really psyched that seadoo is interested in wakeskating. They've been trying to work with wakeboarding for how many years, but wakeboarding never really did anything for them. I guess wakeskating has given back to them more in three years than wakeboarding did in the last ten (or whatever it was I was told). And to top it off, they had that cool little promotional wakeskate you could get if you bought a seadoo within a certain time period. I think that's awesome and I wish I could have gotten one of those....but any rate, SOMEONE needs to support wakeskating...if it weren't for them, there wouldn't be any pro tour check for the wakeskaters. So that's my take on it.

I agree with you electricsnow that seadoo's have there place in wakeskating.I just think wakeskating need's it's own tour.Something like the towjam where there is both a boat and pwc event.
I may be old school but I think w2w is still a big part of wakeskating.I know the big push these day's is more towards lip and flip tricks trying to make it more like skating. But this is only one part of skating-street skating.W2W is more about going big with big style which is more akin to vert and pool skating[my personal preferance seeing as I'm so old school]

no parky, you will never have what it takes, no matter how good you are. well i guess you could do well if you were good enough, but you would never get respect because of this site and how people think of you as the kid with 3000 posts or however many you have. my advice to you is...

1. learn to kickflip
2. change your name

Eh Will how many people think of you as the lame guy who put BOING!! on every post on his first day?

And Parky, you don't have to learn how to kickflip, but you better get something as good or better if you wanna compete on the Pro Tour.

and i could come back with, " i didnt say you thought i was serious, i just asked a question" but it would go on forever...the point is, parky will never have any respect in the wakeskating world under his name, and dont all you die hard wakeskating.com post whores try to defend him just cause hes your "little bro" on here.

BOING

whats funny is that he goes by a screen name. sure you can figure out his real name, and a few people know it, but if you saw him in person you probably wouldnt just be like "ohhh thats parky!"

yea i meant his real name, i would know it if i saw it. but i mean say you saw his name on a podium, youd automatically think, hey, thats that kid parky from wakeskating.com....and if you didnt, you know there would be a post on it telling everyone.
