Gate Alterations

I have seen pics of brandon thomas' gate. appears he has shortened it. i read something about it on a post before. i was wondering what he did to it and how. looks shorter which would be good. it would make the ends wider. pics would be good if anyone happens to have them

take a chainsaw to the kicktails and about 6 inches off the concave. thatll do the trick Wink

if it was a recent picture it may have been the karma wakeskate wich is the new gate, shorter and wider i think.

The new "Karma" is a 105 cm with wider kicktails that aren't os high, which is what Brandon Thomas told me and a couple friends of mine that his Gate is like. (he broke the kicktails on his and sanded them down to what they are now)

yeah i know, i just have heard that he had made his gate shorter (not the karma) and i was wondering how. i don't care anymore i think i'm going to get an integrity or a butter. still very interested in seeing this bi-level.

I told you, he broke one of his kicktails and then sanded it down.

okay now i got it. i'm trying to make a mini-wakeboard cause i have no pop.

i was wondering about how to seal the foam and what to do about the foam top or to redgrip. i won't do any of this so it isn't really important. just not so happy w/ my skate and was wondering how i could ruin it to make an excuse to buy a different one

I talked to brandon and he said that they did not re-do the kicktails on his gate board, but they are gonna double glass them, and he has these weight bar inserts on the bottom of his board incase the rider wants more weight

gorath112, I got a different story from him at Irvine... I saw the board he's riding in the new WBM in person, and spoke to him about it, he said that he cut about an Inch and a half off and sealed the ends with resin, then sanded it, but the board in question is an 04 gate that was double glassed from hyperlite, so it would be heavier, and he runs one fin on it a .7 03 belmont fin, I've been bugging him to sell it to me, via email since I saw him at Irvine
