yesterday was my first time wakeskating. it was possibly one of the most fun things ive ever done. ive been wakeboarding for 5 years, so making the switch isnt that hard i guess.

i have a few questions im hoping you guys could answer. we own a bayliner, so it doesnt have a tower. how long should the rope be? also, i dont own the skate, its by buddies but im trying to buy one. his is a LF Armada 41. I am about 5'11" and 150 pounds, what would be a good skate for me to look at? and finally, his has the foam top, so we were riding in bare feet. should shoes be worn on foam? is it any easier to do tricks and such? also can the foam be taken off and grip be put on?

shoes on foam is all preference just make sure to where them on grip, my first board was foam the next was grip and i never want to skate foam again. I think most people on here ride some around 60'. With a skate to buy look online at the all the companies sites, find a shape that looks like it would be fun to ride. (asking what board to buy on here just leads to people yelling to buy their favorite brand). I'm a similar size to you and think a 40" feels perfect. Hope i helped

thank you. yeah, i was kinda thinking i wanted something a little shorter than the 41. to me it just feels like my legs are too far apart to do anything. i was riding on a 55 foot rope yesterday, but normally i do ride on a 60'. my brother took 5 feet of it out and took it with him to another lake.

ride4frnt, It couldn't be stated better than what Parker told you.

Have a blast riding and don't let people on here ever get you down on wakeskating, some of them are just crusty old salts or young lil jits.

foam is sorry. grip is where it's at. the ripples in the foam put you a 1/4 inch above the deck. with grip u r closer to the deck. intimacy is key in this game. i ride wood, the armada would be the last deck i would pick. i recomend getting a new, an oak, a devotid, or even a LF wood concave.......maybe and old cassette if u can catch one.

regular shoes work fine...........if u cut holes in them, make them small. if u can get shoes for wakeskating........they are really comfy and are worth the bucks if u have some to throw. Otherwise, some pumas, or some converse is what i like to rock.

the rope length......i like to ride all the way back.......70-80'......wherever you think the wake looks best and where you feel most comfy. the longer the rope gives u a lil more hangtime.

we we're out yesterday and some kids rolled up and wanted to learn wakeskate. we let them ride a 4trac and bear in mind these kids are waist high. first kid got up surfboard style, first try Shocked we got the second kid up and he cam out ollieing.......they got back on their boat and ripped smore. As we sipped some bevys at the end of the set watching the sun go down.........here comes the grommet and he threw a shuv right in our faces......stomped Birthday barefoot Shocked

i'm telling u all this cause i want u to come down here and skate Smash so Rolling Eyes when shold i expect u Wink

i always like the doggystyle riding tip........get behind that as$ like snoop double G.........keep that board in front of you, ride with alot of weight on your back feet.

have a blast man, smile, make your buds laugh, move your feet around...... just get out there and dance. Cool

the length of the board shouldn't change the position of your feet.....
