you know if you could use a vertical shaft engine you could probably make a pretty compact winch _________________ Go Balls Deep Or Go Home |

ive thought of one too, i thought gravity would not mess with the spool so it could spin totally free. problem is getting the rope to not tangle cus it has gravity pullin it down to the bottom of the fairlead. if you can create a device to control the rope guide then it will be sick
just get a 8hp Vertial Shaft Engine and your ready to start, i actually think you could make one look like a box. just the engine on top and spool below it, _________________ ninja's 4 Life

| De Oro, you would need a t-a-v or centrifugal clutch between the engine and the spool. Can t-a-v's mount to vertical shaft engines??? |

Kay-Kay, yeah the veritcle engine i have already has a tav on it.
I am not too worried about the gravity thing, because they do sell feeders that should keep the rope even.
I am going to start a winch with a verticle spool in august i will post some pics and let u kno how it goes.
thanks for the info _________________ I hate waves they skrew everything up!!! |
